Must be one of the biggest gambles you can take, investing in bloodstock, need deep pockets. If they win the Bumper today i'm sure would make up for it.

they're just guessers like everyone else.

On a day when Goffs UK graduate Jonbon blazed brightly in a flawless Henry VIII Novices' Chase display, the action off the track shone in an equally meaningful way at the first running of the Tingle Creek Sale.
Heading the first boutique sale of its kind at Sandown were two high-class Donnchadh Doyle inmates in Lingstown and Knockmullen House four-year-old maiden winners Brook Bay and Flash In The Park, who sold for £380,000 and £350,000 respectively.
Brook Bay, who struck by a ready four lengths last month, was ultimately knocked down to Martin Tedham of Wasdell Properties, the sponsor of Jonjo O'Neill's Gloucestershire yard after being the subject of competitive bidding around the winner's enclosure at the Esher track. The underbidder was Highflyer Bloodstock's Anthony Bromley with Nicky Henderson.

Taking the lead earlier in the session was Doyle's Flash In The Park, the sole lot in the sale by Coolmore's brilliant sire Walk In The Park and a 20-length winner on his second point start at Knockmullen House last month.
The four-year-old went the way of Ben Pauling and undoubtedly part of his appeal was the recent update to his page. He is out of the unraced Un Desperado mare Mrs Masters, whose Montelimar half-sister Darrens Lass is the dam of last month's Grade 2 Florida Pearl Novice Chase winner Darrens Hope.

Brook Bay is another pile of rubbish

The episode involving the new to the sport Exterior Profiles Ltd being taken for a ride by Webber, with Sherwood assistance, would be enough to put off anyone becoming involved - particularly as the general feedback from within the industry was all round commiserations for the pair for being unfortunate in getting caught out, as it was accepted as being far from rare practice.

cheers in hell...

Anthony Bromley...

another guessing expert who seems to do nowt wrong when it comes to the horse trading business...

well according to the racing press/media who slobber all over him right enough.

Tom Malone...

has that cheeky chappy look about him doorman...

having heard him a few times being interviewed when he was jockeying for The Pipe Squad i wouldn't rate him as a form student never mind the price a horse was worth...

owners with far too much spare cash looking for a way to spend it...

hideous tbh.

all of a sudden it's a world beater with a lovely shoulder/conformation and has a nice swaggering walk...

i'd bid half a million says one of the expert bloodstock agents...

it's very scientific and runts on here couldn't possibly be as good as they are.

Great moment at Taunton a few weeks ago, Nicholls/Malone fav, cost a fortune, owner in attendance, first run for him, not even in first 2, N and M and owner all stood there in complete silence after, brilliant!

the whole industry is a stinking mess imv...

why owners with half a million pounds per horse put their faith in these people who have the nonsense 'expert' tag attached to them is beyond me...

i know plenty of folk who could give excellent advice on horses without it costing the owner 20-25k per horse...

it's utter madness and as per usual the press does/says absolutely nowt about it...

all they do is suck up to these 'experts' when they pop up with a decent one and ignore all the duds they have advised on.

Don't forget the massive kickback they get from the seller, have their hand out at both ends, 5% from the buyer and whatever deal they have with the seller. Reason the 150k horse has suddenly become a 300k beast. One of the top flat lady owner breeders (can't remember who) brought this up years ago in the paper and said that she refused to deal with them on principle so unless she had a really exceptional talent that everyone wanted her horses would make less money. In any other industry it would be called an extortion racket but in the closed shop of racing it is the norm. Probably the reason David Elsworth called all agents parasites in an interview.

i seem to remember the BHA brought in some facile 'rule' a while back doorman...

was it not something like you can only be an 'agent' if you deposited 100k in to a Wetherbys account or something like that ?
