There was no Labour candidate to contest the seat.

I just felt sorry for the voters of Rochdale not having a proper candidate on the ballot paper.

Why are people in Rochdale interested in Palastine?

Everyone should be interested in what's happening in Palestine? They are human-beings too regardless of geography, creed, political persuasion, etc. What the Israeli Army and Mr Netanyahu are doing is genocide.
Rochdale is dominated by the Asian esp Pakistani community. As such, a Muslim representative is most likely these days; The Asian former Labour candidate was "pariah" by his forme Party. Mr Galloway knows how to play the policial game; he's form. I think the results in Rochdale could give Sir Starmer a huge headache if the indiscriminate killings in Gaza continues or a ceasefire still not achieved come the next General Election. If so, the voters will be unlikely to vote Labour esp if a Muslim candidate is selected again post the sexual crimes in the area; the white locals could ditch Labour, and vote strategically again. But, it was good the former Labour candidate was comprehensively ditched and beaten. |

yeah rhetorical Q. there.

How are you defining 'a proper candidate' ? |
|
By:
That’s the ‘new’ meaning of genocide ofc, to go with the new meaning of racism and the new meaning of Islamophobia
All altered to fit a narrative to embolden just one set of beliefs. It’s perhaps a good thing that the foreign policy desires of this Worker’s Party are separated from Labour. Islam should have its own home in politics so that the major parties don’t attempt to appease them by creating mad laws that impact the majority |

post yer most seats ( tory ) bet at 8.8 It's gonner be a labour landslide but I hate 'em both.

Only 39% of them bothered to vote, I wouldn't feel too sorry for them.

Very disappointed that this type of thread has not been confined to the sh**hole that the politics forum has become. No escape I suppose.

Being interested is ever so slightly different to determining the actual result of elections of representatives to UK parliament. People who think that is the most pressing pollical issue for them, by definition care about what happens in foreign countries more than what happens on their own doorstep. Now why might that be ? |

Only 39% of them bothered to vote, I wouldn't feel too sorry for them. Because there was nobody to represent their views. |

By:
What I find utterly laughable is the ongoing discussion around party leaders calling for ceasefires in Gaza. It is purely a vote winning exercise, they don't actually think UK politicians calling for ceasefire will make a blind bit of difference do they ?

Great pity the thread title didn't give the topic away, allowing people to avoid it if they want. |

Some of them crave the block vote evidenced in this result. That, and we now live in this modern dystopia where what people say is far more important than what they actually do. At least, they think it is. The virtue signalling era. |

Mr Cider- I'm really not going to get involved other than to point out with regard to the following:
"Everyone should be interested in what's happening in Palestine? They are human-beings too regardless of geography, creed, political persuasion, etc. What the Israeli Army and Mr Netanyahu are doing is genocide." Should not "Everyone" be interested in what China is doing to the Uyghurs? Or what the Arab Muslims are doing to the African Muslims on the African continent? What about what's going on in Venezuela? The question is why is Israel held in isolation as a special case. Deep down we all know the answer. It's not more of a pity that I looked at the thread having seen the title than the thread should appear on a racing forum at all. I've left the politics forum for good. I really do hope that my enjoyment of the other forums will not have to cease too. There will be no further comment by me on this subject on this forum. |

It's the latest liberalist dogma, Slicer. Predominately useful idiots who get told what to think by the bbc. Most of them couldn't find Israel/Palestine on a map.
Behind them you've got the people who do exactly know what they are doing. Allied by their shared hatred of the West, and our values. Nut zero, blm, palestine, lower taxes, critical race theory, trans ideology, male self flagellation (& several others). Infected practically all of our institutions and cultural institutions, who now trip over themselves to confess to their racist and misogynistic past. |
