Fixture Note
An inspection was held as a result of concern over persistent rainfall. Riders, Harry Skelton, Niall Houlihan, Rex Dingle and James Davies; Trainers, Richard Bandey, the representative of Gary Moore and the representative of Ben Pauling; The Clerk of the Course were interviewed. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that racing could continue and as a result there was a 5 minute delay to the start of race 1. |

was just the first i hadnt fully read

Seems ludicrous as the jumps meetings now on top of each other.
By:
no danger of them catching up of course
By:
does make you laugh
By:
and no success in catching up. They are incompetent. They will be just as late off here. 3 races within 15 mins of each other then a 15 minute gap. And they wonder why they are short of prize money.
By:
that had he look of we're going off 5 mins late every race rather than just the first
By:
knew there was a race due off elsewhere at 253 and made no effort to make time up ??
By:
they look borderline raceable, wouldn't surprise me if they inspect again
By:
Lingfield jumps cards are just a nuisance, they are either abandoned or delayed, inspecting, roll on Windsor so they can take the only decent card they've got off them.
By:
4 runners and they will not have made up a second. It is ludicrous. The last race, two of the horse were "shown the first hurdle" adding another 60 seconds to the delay. It all reduces the take for the Levy this.
By:
Not really. Thurles makes zero contribution to the British levy.
By:
but if punters won't bet on a subsequent event until they know the result of their "first" bet which. apparently, is a well known phenomenon in bookies, there will be fewer bets on Thurles in UK bookies because of clashes? marginal I accept, but it all adds up.
By:
Sure, there'll be fewer bets on Thurles, which affects the bookies' profits. But not one penny of those profits goes to the British Levy. Nothing at all.
By:
ahh. Hadn't realised that.
By:
No problem. Rest assured the bookies have realised it.
So has the BHA, and they've been lobbying the government for a long time for British bookmaker profits on foreign horse racing to be liable for contributions to the British Levy. And the bookmakers have been lobbying to keep things just as they are, thank you very much. |
