I mean if the trainer didn't have a clue, wtf can be going on? Someone else posted about "the fun" in the game. How can you bet for fun when results are so often ridiculous in extreme? Aiden often talks about people having 'fun' bets too. Why is bingo so valuable? What makes it fun? .... I think I'm talking to myself and thinking ... perhaps enough is enough. Getting bored.... at last. :)

Sometimes shooda boredom or more likely frustration can emanate from doing the same things and expecting different results.
A revised strategy more akin to 2024 can maybe re-sparkle the interest and help retain some love for the game.
It's a helluva different game now to say 20-30yrs ago when many on here would have started punting.

Ah... just for you Hayden, I'll explain. I DO VERY much review strategies and try different approaches. One recent change was to look at particularly bad races that throw up a lot of losers and look to lay one or two (I might add to quite modest stakes). Eire Street is one such horse which came out of a particulalrly bad race on 14th Nov 23 at Lingfield, a race in which there have been 18 subsequent runners come out and only ONE placed! I combine that with a few other observations e.g. Eire Street had a nice run in a Sligo 2m2f NHF race - I expect a horse of that profile to be a stayer (my experience tells me that from 40 years of study) not 2m1f hurdler (even on heavy going) that wins by a street. If handicapping means anything, then the 21 horses that thrashed it in it's last 3 races will need to be raised about 50 or 60 lbs. :D .... How can anyone talk the kinda crap that people do "oh it's about 1lb per length in the jumps" when results throw up such massive discrepancy. If you're not applying some kind of scientific method (and I agree that needs constant review) then what are you doing? It has to be a pin right? It really is bingo right. .... apologies for so much blah blah .... I know I need to heed my own message i.e. no-one forces you to this but please, don't say thinsg like "doing the same things and expecting different results" when you have no clue as to my approach. Well, that was bit ranty eh :D

Not at all mate fair comments , my own view on handicap debutantes is obviously have a very selective criteria when backing but be 100% adamant never to lay them as they occasionally prove they have hidden talents whether they're well backed or drifters.
You've gathered by now i'm the furthest punter from a form student but we all have our own ways of doing things.
No offence meant , you're a good poster and wish you the best of luck

That's kind Hayden. I actually always hope that maybe one or two would share strategies, but obviously that can be giving too much away. I'll be dead soon enough so don't mind sharing strategy. Best strategy - keep away from this daft game.
