I can only bet with two bookmakers online it is such hard work trying to have a bet and as I don't need the money I am thinking about giving up gambling.

As TheGoddess says, blame the GC.  I don't imagine the bookies are jumping with joy at turning away punters' money.

Exactly…but petrified of the heavy fines……

must be a better way to identify problem gamblers and chase them individually for proof of funds than go for a blunderbuss everyone's limited to £3 a day approach.  that doesn't make sense.

you've got pensioners doing a few quid a day being chased for bank statements cos someones blown a gasket and done 20 grand in a day, whilst they sat and watched him doing it.

Being limited by virtue-signallers to a daily 30p yankee while watching old biddies at Asda flinging £50 notes across the counter for ****, booze and scratch-cards seems reasonable.

Horse Racing is one of the few things that the UK is a world leader at (OK prize money is a big issue but we can talk about that another day) It's something to be proud of.

No idea, im not a prolific winner or loser bets are £200 down to about £50, like most reasonable punters i have good weeks and bad weeks, the £100 p/m makes no sense, they have 23 years of my history on here.

Only one strange thing did happen, like most the sportsbook on here you are reduced to pennies, but beginning of last week i wanted a ant post Cheltenham acca, it paid the most on their sportsbook so i did a check just to see how many pennies they would lay and to my amazement max bet was £350, i nearly fell off my chair, so i had £100 of it,.

And now what a surprise, i've just checked max bets on a few random races and football and it looks like i've now got an unrestricted sportsbook account,  example odds on jolly 7 o'clock my max bet £2,500, football Southampton to win tonight £3,500.

What do you make of that, clearly impossible to bet those sums because i have a limit of £100 p/m

Incidentally i had a safer gambling email for dak just after charismas, a £1.000 p/m deposit limit until i give them a sperm sample

the 100 pm is normally temporary until you provide proof of income, if they've asked and you've not provided or tried to contact you and you didn't respond they apply it until you give info, then they agree a new figure and you're on that limit per month going forward
By:

There has been several forumites admitting they are 100 max a month

some people bet once per week or less and a few quid a race, or do the odd multi

they are picking up multiple deposits, people who they feel are losing large amounts, arbers as they cannot see the other books, some people have large balances and don't deposit much, the limit is on deposits currently

and whilst many consider it private, if you want to bet under the current legislation they are required to check, you have the choice of being on fck all deposit or providing income so that they can prove they've done their due diligence

I don't have to prove my income to get a £16K liability on a credit card (as I stooze I have £100K+ potential liability across over a dozen cards!) But might have to, to place a bet Crazy

It's not about considering private, it is private. Farage managed to clear out a few bankers for disclosing his private banking information.

What legislation is that?

Many still not getting this, if the AC's stopped tomoz and the Govt told the books not to worry you don't need to perform checks on your customers anymore, guess what, it would make absolutely no difference whatsover, the books for years have been restricting punters for years anyway, long long before AC checks were a thing and they will carry on stopping punters who they don't want regardless.

Pity Farage wasn’t a player in the punting world he would be good fighting for the punters….

Yes they can get a credit report. I don't have to prove my income, or anything else. There is nothing else in society I'm aware of that you are expected to give away personal financial data to be able to spend your own money.
