Good luck to him, but this is for the best as he hasn't looked great in the saddle and has taken quite a few have falls in the past few season.

Glad he is getting out in once piece by the sound of it. Clearly well respected and popular in the weighing room. Who can forget the reception he got from his fellow jockeys following Sire De Grugy's win in the Queen Mun Champion Chase? He had a great run for a couple of years with that great horse.

GL to him.

-------------------------

That one wasn't his fault actually,if you look at a slow motion replay it was a complete freak of a fall as Goshen's rear and front hoof momentarily got caught up with each other causing a loss of momentum which propelled the pilot out the side door,I only found this out a while after the race as it cost me a fortune.

I know Punch I were there, it will stick with him because it was a cert festival winner apart from the million to one shot.

Absolute sickener it was ladycarla, would have literally been able to be  eased up coming to the finish as it was going to hose up,a lot of people thought on the day that JM just got unbalanced after jumping and fell off until a while after the race and the pictures emerged.

Nearly 1,000 winners but apparently useless according to some of the armchair jockey pr1cks on here...Cool

A lot of uncharitable comments on here sadly. All jockeys love the buzz of race riding but that does not alter the fact that they do so for our entertainment and fatalitiess and paralysing injuries are an ever present risk.

Clearly well liked by his peers and I for one will miss him. All the best for the future Jamie.
Report acey deucy • February 15, 2024 10:29 PM GMT
I dont believe for one minute that was Jamie's fault....Nice guy really glad he is getting out in one piece.

stood in for injured an jock, have to say he was a really nice lad, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, couldn't do enough to help post race, wish him well liked him a lot, all jockeys get a hiding when they mess up which one way or another happens, it's just life, gl to him for whatever he does next

Jamie tells us he has a scattering of bleeds on the brain, no wonder he has had to give up riding.
nothing more important than your health.
Report formoftheace • February 17, 2024 11:18 AM GMT
Teeth smashed, broken nose, neck, back and countless other injuries during his career…..most of us hate banging an elbow or stubbing a toe ffs

Brave and hard as nails…..enjoy the new career…

Thank god he has seen sense , I have a couple of old brain bleeds that were eventually discovered when the opticain realised my peripheral vision wasnt great . That was after two severe concussions riding and one playing rugby in my youth . Biggest problem has been persuading various GPs that they are not an iminent sign of a stroke but a traumatic bleed .
