Lookaway back to 2 miles after running second in the Challow, running here instead of Exeter on Sunday by the looks of it, early choice is for the Mullins newcomer, first run for Mullins since leaving France, if the maestro has worked his magic then the current 7.6 on here could be nice, will try winand4places.

Shiskin would have romped home in the King George but for that blunder, can you ever see Protektorat winning a KG?, Shishkin is short but wins for me, to be backed in running of course.

Ribal is a strange one in the 5.15 Newcastle, first run for Williams and its a 6 furlong race, dropping back from 10 furlongs, having had his last five races at that distance. Never ran over 6 furlongs yet, could be worth a chance against an odds on favourite, rated 79 so has shown ability. Ex Andrew Balding.

Cant be many horses that have won the same race 5 years on the bounce? Billaway tries it tomorrow in the Hunters at Naas, usually comes on for seasonal debut so may be worth opposing with a newcomer to the Hunter Chase division in Battleoverdoyen, place bet, has won both points since last seen under rules, 12/1 drifitng so may be a decent price in the place markets, only doubt here is the jockey, can only find him riding in NHF races.

Half way through the second bottle, bring on the third, or at least half of it!

Can Emiton prove that his ability is still in tact? A 10 year old now but gave Saint Davy 6lb and a damn good race over 3 miles at Ludlow last time out, Saint Davy then went on to win the Virgin Bet HCap Hdle (Class 1) at Sandown next time up having been raised 6lb to 130. Emiton has been raised 2 to 132 for that effort and hopefully will be hard to keep out of the places in the three miler that is the 1.30 at Newbury.

Betfair hurdle always hard to crack, like Brentford hope think it will run a big race.

I agree ladycarla, cant remember the last time Mullins introduced one to the UK when bringing the horse over from France, I'm sure that there will be one though? Happy with 7.6 in the win market and will turn it into an 80/20 bet with a place bet nearer the off.
Report ladycarla • February 9, 2024 10:44 PM GMT
Mullins went out quick for me with last run within last 65 days plus only 1 out last 10 won last time out but GL, Willie is an magician.

I've a huge admiration for Willie Mullins, best NH trainer ever in my eyes, and its not always his apparent first string that have the best chance, often its best to look 'outside the box', I've found a couple of trends that work, nothing is exact of course.

Agree Tiger I put him in same league as Sir Henry Cecil, just something about them what they have nobody else does and before the older ones kick off Laugh Vincent won his last Derby when i had my first bet as a teenager Grin

My favourite all time trainer is WP Mullins, V O'Brien on the flat and now Aiden, despite his failings Gordon Elliott is a favourite of mine also, plenty of English favourites of course but none compare to highly to their Irish counterparts.

When the spelling mistakes appear - the drink is setting in Laugh third bottle of Valpolicella now open. I'm a hardy sort though Plain

Zenato Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Veneto, at around £60 a bottle, not that it matters.

I like Stravinsky too, especially the obvious one, The Rite Of Spring. Just not on a Friday night.

A couple of winners and an easy trade out on Ribal, not such a shabby day at all. All down to a good winePlain.
Report ladycarla • February 10, 2024 5:21 PM GMT
Well done, 10 minutes re-shoeing Mullins horse couldn't of helped.
Report Tiger Tiger • February 10, 2024 5:22 PM GMT
