HARBOUR VISION, drawn 10, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started and was marginally slowly away as a result. Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
MY BROTHER MIKE (IRE), drawn 6, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started and was marginally slowly away as a result. Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving DREAMCASING, unplaced, ridden by Sam James, MY BROTHER MIKE (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Dougie Costello and MONKMOOR PIP, placed third, ridden by Harry Davies. James was cautioned for careless riding as he had moved left-handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear of MY BROTHER MIKE (IRE) and MONKMOOR PIP causing slight interference to both runners.
An enquiry was held to consider a further incident of interference shortly after the start involving LOCAL MUSIC (IRE), placed second, ridden by Hector Crouch and the winner, PANAMA CITY, ridden by Billy Garritty. Crouch was cautioned for careless riding as he had switched his mount left-handed when insufficiently clear, causing Garritty to take a precautionary check.

Usually they announce what the enquiry is into, so don't know if SSR's on course reporter relayed this to the viewers, but if the SE was just into the start, then that has obviously put a few people away who were betting on it or greening up.
But as they haven't published those R & R outcomes yet, maybe there is a delay for whatever reason in getting everything out.

An enquiry was held into the running and riding of ON CLOUD, ridden by Andrea Pinna and trained by Kevin Frost which after jumping on terms, was ridden worse than mid-division throughout, losing touch with the leading division of runners down the back straight and having its finishing effort delayed until approaching 2 furlongs out, whereupon it then stayed on strongly in the home straight from an unpromising position to finish third of eight runners, beaten by 3¾ lengths. The rider and the representative of the trainer were interviewed and shown recordings of the race and the Veterinary Officer performed two post-race examinations of the filly, which was routine tested and he had nothing to report. Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, Pinna was accompanied in the enquiry by the BHA Jockey Coach. The rider stated that his instructions were to jump out, drop in to get ON CLOUD to relax with cover and ensure that he kept the filly balanced giving her the best chance of running on and finding the line well. Pinna indicated that due to the steady pace through the early and middle stages, ON CLOUD raced keenly and he was initially positioned closer to the leaders than desirable so when the front three horses extended their advantage over the rest of the field down the back straight on the final circuit and being mindful of his mount’s earlier exertions, he stayed tracking DUKE OF VIENNA (USA) for some distance approaching 3 furlongs out hoping that horse would commit with its challenge and take him into the race which, ultimately, it failed to do. Furthermore, he was also reluctant to commence a wider move forward into the race earlier as he considered it important to keep hold of the filly’s head and ensure she was balanced on the bends before mounting his effort off the home turn. Pinna explained that the filly had finished to good effect in the home straight after the leaders got first run on him. The trainer’s representative confirmed the instructions given to Pinna and stated that the ride had accorded with them, although he did feel the race had not been run to suit ON CLOUD in the circumstances. Pinna was suspended for12 days for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures throughout the race to obtain the best possible placing on his mount in that, for a significant distance from leaving the back straight until approaching the 2 furlong marker, he had failed to improve his position at a crucial stage of the race and had left the filly with too much ground to make up, before then also appearing to ride ON CLOUD somewhat considerately at times in the home straight, even allowing for the fact that this was a hands and heels only contest.

Permission was given for KIMIFIVE (IRE) to go early to post wearing a red hood.
BERKSHIRE PHANTOM (IRE), drawn 1, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started and was slowly into stride as a result. Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
The performance of PESSOA, which dead-heated for fifth place beaten by 6 lengths, was considered. It was noted that Adrian Wintle could offer no explanation for the geldings’ performance.
Jack Doughty, the rider of REVISION, which dead-heated for fifth place, beaten by 6 lengths, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post. After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Doughty was suspended for 1 day for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing on a horse that would have finished an outright fifth.

Virgin, she'd been quite keen through the early stages, so he rightly got cover. Maybe he left it a bit late to go after the leaders, but he is an inexperienced jock in a hands-and-heels race. Harsh imo.

An enquiry was held into the running and riding of LOVE YOUR WORK (IRE), ridden by Liam Wright and trained by Darryll Holland, which jumped awkwardly from the stalls and was slowly into stride settling at the rear of the field before making good ground in the home straight under apparent tender handling to finish fifth of seven runners, beaten by 2 lengths. The rider and the representative of the trainer were interviewed and shown recordings of the race and the Veterinary Officer performed two post-race examinations of the gelding, which was selected for routine testing and had nothing to report. The rider stated his instructions were to expect LOVE YOUR WORK (IRE) to be slowly into stride as he has been previously, but give him a chance to find his feet, travel into the race then come with his run. Wright explained that he was aware the gelding can have a high, awkward head carriage and is a big strong galloping horse which needed to be held together and kept balanced for as long as possible, adding that he felt LOVE YOUR WORK (IRE) was off the bridle and going as fast as he could until turning for home. Once in the straight, he cajoled LOVE YOUR WORK (IRE) into giving his effort which he considered to be the best way to ride the gelding. He further added that this was the best performance LOVE YOUR WORK (IRE) had achieved in its 4 runs for the yard, despite the Wolverhampton circuit being tighter than ideal. Wright indicated that he would be recommending to the trainer that LOVE YOUR WORK (IRE) may now appreciate a step up in trip to 6 furlongs. The trainer’s representative confirmed the instructions given and that the ride had accorded with them. Wright was suspended for 10 days for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures throughout the race, in that he had failed to ride his mount in such a way that he could be seen to ask for timely, real and substantial effort to obtain the best possible placing.

An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 ½ furlongs out involving LOCAL MUSIC (IRE), placed second, ridden by Hector Crouch and DREAMCASING, unplaced, ridden by Sam James. Crouch was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he had switched right-handed when insufficiently clear of DREAMCASING causing James to take a substantial check.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after three incidents of interference in the home straight involving the winner, PANAMA CITY, ridden by Billy Garritty, LOCAL MUSIC (IRE), placed second, ridden by Hector Crouch and TONAL (FR), placed fourth, ridden by Callum Shepherd. After hearing evidence from all three riders and viewing recordings of the incident, it was established that for some distance approaching and passing the 1-furlong marker PANAMA CITY had hung right-handed intimidating TONAL (FR) which was also inclined to lug slightly right-handed off its intended line, and this in turn moved LOCAL MUSIC (IRE) wider off its intended racing line. Thereafter approaching and passing the ½ furlong marker it was considered that despite PANAMA CITY continuing to drift right-handed, by this time TONAL (FR) was hanging right-handed independently of PANAMA CITY and made contact with LOCAL MUSIC (IRE) which itself had changed leads and edged slightly left-handed with both LOCAL MUSIC (IRE) and TONAL (FR) becoming unbalanced as a result of this bump. Thereafter on the run to the line PANAMA CITY had continued to hang right-handed into the path of TONAL (FR), forcing Shepherd to take a precautionary check in the final strides. The Stewards ordered the placings to remain unaltered as despite acknowledging PANAMA CITY had caused some but not all of the interference to both TONAL (FR) and LOCAL MUSIC (IRE), they were unable to be satisfied that had the interference not occurred either LOCAL MUSIC (IRE) or TONAL (FR) would have finished in front of PANAMA CITY. In the first incident, Garritty was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to hang right-handed without sufficient correction, thereby causing interference to both TONAL (FR) and LOCAL MUSIC (IRE). The second incident was considered to be accidental and ruled as interference between TONAL (FR) and LOCAL MUSIC (IRE). In the third incident, the interference was also found to be accidental as PANAMA CITY had hung right-handed despite the rider’s best efforts to correct his mount impeding TONAL (FR).
