What he "claims" is that he and his associates worked out that the casinos were cheating some of their bigger customers at baccarat, and how they were cheating them.  Then they exploited the fact that they knew the casino were cheating to their monetary advantage. 

There's no evidence and he won't divulge how they knew (if he's not making it up)

It doesn't come across as very credible imho

The tattoos may put some off CLYDEBANK but I think he is 100% genuine imvho.

I wasn't basing his credibility on his appearance, just his raison d'etre.  My intuition is that, either it's just a pack of lies, or if he or an associate has made loads of money, it's by nefarious means, and he's trying to legitimize it by claiming he won it at the casinos.

You may be right but there's no question he's donated plenty to good causes. That cannot be faked.

**He does claim to be a card counter.....the only way to make money at the game. Roulette  has never been mentioned.

It does if he cannot place the bets himself. It happens on horseracing in this country.

I remember an Interview with Spike Milligan, where he was messing around telling funny stories and after one question from the interviewer he said, "What's more interesting?  The boring truth or an exciting lie?"  Unfortunately, with social media nowadays, that is mostly what you get.  No one is interested in the boring truth.

stewarty, nowadays it takes a casino approximately 5 minutes to spot a blackjack card counter ie as soon as he places his first large bet. That is even on the rare occasion when the game conditions make it possible.

Of course if someone is cheating with dealer collusion anything is possible.

It makes sense with horse racing.  It makes no sense with blackjack.  If you can card count well, that's an inate and hard earned ability.  You can't just place the bet, you have to be highly skilled, and if you are that highly skilled, you do it for your own benefit or as part of a team syndicate, where the counter plays small and the big bettor who clearly isn't counting, but copies the tells of the counter.  Casinos will be getting wiser to that and I suspect the deck sizes and rules have also changed marginally to make it less profitable (since I did it in the 90s)

There are many dealers who show their second card when dealing. It's a case of one cheat after another imo.

a) they only  lift the card when their first is an ace
b) vegas casinos have a detector so the dealer doesn't even look at the second card
