Agree with you on that Hayden & Acey. It's a very stressful job though so you can see why plenty of Trainers and Jockeys hit it hard.

I feel sorry for his dependents esp his family. I hope his table staff would get similar employment elsewhere within the industry. As for Mr Harris I hope he uses the time away from horseracing intelligently to reflect on the causes of his latest predicament.

I mean Henderson is as close to an Alcoholic as you can get.

Went cold turkey back then as with caffeine , got Severe Chronic Cluster Headache Syndrome so the medication isn't compatible with alcohol and certainly not with caffeine.

Harris is no doubt a “character” but this seems something of a witch hunt.

Harris probably deserved all he got karma has a way of catching up with people.

My suspicion of a witch hunt starts from the committee’s hearing being held behind closed doors, despite the Racing Post wanting to give a blow by blow report. WHY?

Who knows but from some of the evidence Harris might end up being pleased it was or he might've been getting a knock at the door.

If it's concerning anything to do with a young person, then that person cannot be identified.

A 'personality clash'(?) between trainers where Harris might have been OTT, and regarding the young girls, the committee accepted that Harris's actions towards SJO were not done for "reasons of sexual gratification". And presumably he hasn't done anything that required a police investigation.

So this leaves the terms of his licence regarding being a company director, and buying and selling.

Apparently on several occasions Harris had requested that the condition against him being a director be removed, but this was seemingly refused by the BHA.

I appreciate there was a history of bankruptcy, but did Harris deserve to have the condition held against his licence for an indefinite period? So who was being unreasonable here?

If I were Harris, I'd be looking to appeal, if there is an appeals process.

Johhny Farrelly was banned for a minimum of seven years 'under safeguarding regulations' back in 2021.
He said he intended to appeal against the judgement. Don't know if he did appeal though.
Should imagine Harris has a right to appeal.

Harris seems unpleasant from the evidence but Earle (5 winners in 5 yrs) comes across as a bit of a wimp with friends in high places.

The BHA report also points out that when Harris has been given his licence back with conditions, he has blatantly ignored those conditions.

It is the same thing. Harris does not recognise any rules. He's had his chances and the BHA has basically given up on him.

We have given up on the BHA too. But, we are stuck with them - no choice!

And it is exactly the same with his licence conditions and the Earle stuff. It is not that Harris thought the rules did not apply to him. Rather, he did not even see that there are rules.

Creepy Greg Wood has MH down as a bully. But surely there's 2 sides to this story. Earle had made groundless accusations against MH.  Crying to the BHA about things that didn't even happen and thus wasting BHA resources. They even told SE he was being paranoid but poor MH even got the blame for his paranoia! Now, if you crossed paths with another grown man who'd made false accusations against you, wouldn't you have a few choices words to say to him and ask him to sort it out Man to Man? As for buying and selling Racehorses. How is a Trainer going to go about doing his job without being able to do this? There is a well known trainer from a famous Equestrian family who has been accused of something much worse regarding the ownership of a horse but he's not even had a slap on the wrist.

if you read the conditions they put on him when he was granted his licence back then the stuff re finance and ownership / horse dealings etc were laid out, he agreed to them to get the licence and then didn't comply (which he admits he was in breach of, he didn't deny it)

the other stuff which people are getting hung up about is just dressing, they are making sure he's not coming back, they had pages of evidence and didn't even use it all, frankly he was getting band for the licence infringements regardless, they don't want him in the sport and were just burying him

In these circumstances you report someone and/or leave the job BEFORE something happens. Correct ?

Paul Webber and Oliver Sherwood, they did get done for colluding in sale of horse but can't remember what the punishment was, if any.

The Newmarket-based trainer was handed a three-month suspension after he was found guilty of misleading officials in relation to an injury that a horse had sustained in Butler’s care by the BHA disciplinary panel. He was also fined £1000 for having incomplete medical records.

Butler was found guilty of “deliberately misleading BHA investigating officers” with regards to the withdrawal of his colt, National Anthem in a six-furlong novice race at Redcar in October 2017.

The controversial trainer has saddled 32 winners in this flat season, claiming more than £200,000 in prize money.

The latest of his wins came in a class six, six-furlong contest at Wolverhampton, where Butler-trained, Pushkin Museum (5/2F) won on November 24.

The most damning finding by the BHA disciplinary panel was that the lies that Butler told were “premeditated” and also were “continually repeated and emphasised, and their motive, as eventually admitted by Butler, was to stop any further investigation into why he had endeavoured to run an injured and unfit horse in a race at Redcar.”

The vet in the paddock at the Yorkshire track noticed that National Anthem was lame on his right-front leg and had a “massive swelling” to his front-left leg.

The vet advised Butler that the horse shouldn’t run, the day before the scheduled novice race at Redcar, but the trainer’s own vet, Stuart Williamson backed his boss, describing Butler as “very responsible”.

That is worse than anything Milton did, most on here are probably agreed than he can actually train a horse well unlike his neighbour Earle.

Yes, GB. There appears to be a two-tier form on Policing in place at the BHA. Which is very much reflective of how it works in society in general. The action, or should I say the lack of action against the 3 Trainers mentioned confirms this.

I believe his staff were abused on social media for speaking out in support of him. What a crazy place social media is? Maybe, just maybe his staff could engage with BHA in support of him too. The Independent panel report published was extremely detrimental to his character and professional conduct.

I'd go for a drink with him, but wouldn't bring my 16yo girlfriend along.
