"Harris, 64, had his training licence suspended by the BHA in November “as a result of a breach of the conditions on his licence and related matters” with a week-long licensing committee hearing taking place this month behind closed doors."

As Charlie Rich once sang beautifully...nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors

“Some of the details in the licensing committee’s decision make for extremely uncomfortable reading. Mr Harris’s behaviour over a prolonged period of time fell a long way short of what we expect of a licensed person and, as the committee found, would cause damage to racing’s reputation if allowed to continue without repercussion. We are, therefore, pleased with the panel’s finding that Mr Harris is not a fit and proper person to hold a licence.

better clip here, cuz he admitted he'd "been told off" by some of the staff for doing it.

It will be interesting to see if Charlton is allowed to take over as the licence holder although from the comments made by Harris it appears that he is hinting that it is over for the stable.

Should that not be the case the BHA have left an open goal for him to be pulling the strings behind the scenes which could be detrimental to perceived integrity.

Harris, 64, was found to have breached conditions on being a company director, trading in bloodstock, intimidating and bullying fellow trainer Simon Earle and on safeguarding.

So basically they've done him for everything short of the Whitechapel murders.

He had an an argument with a fellow trainer and used foul language.....has this ever happened before? lol
Oh, and he's a bit of a creepy old Man but not to the point the Police were ever involved? If being a creepy old Man is against the law, we'd have to build a new prison every week!

We mention some of the disputed background issues because they are relevant for what we must decide. For example, there had been complaints to the BHA by SE regarding intruders in his yard and concerns about possible contamination of his horses with banned substances in January 2020. It was put to SE that this was evidence of paranoia on his part because there was no evidence in support of his concerns. Whether this is fair criticism or not, we find that already by this time SE had been put into a state of heightened emotion and anxiety by MH.

Simon must think he's in a Dick Francis novel. lol Of course, the BHA would side with him on their dispute.

To say the report on him was damning is an understatement. Even if 80% of the report was factual and proven it would be best if Mr Harris is never ever involved in horseracing or being a trainer again.

Mr Harris has failed on every aspect deemed necessary to be a responsible, respectable, fit and proper individual or leader of a team or entity in horseracing.

The other guy from a working class/council estate background improving modest horses no end and getting an Aintree Festival winner.

Oh, well another likable character is gone from the game. Always came across as a nice enough fella and seemed positive about the game and the horses and people in it. I'm guessing he's very old school and if you messed up, he wouldn't be shy to tell you.

Dunno. Wasn't there, and haven't read the evidence in the Harris case. It's not a comparison I'd care to make. I'm just not sure who you think should be punished (if anyone) from your posts.
