Southern Water was hacked and the baddies claim to have taken scanned passports and driving licences.

How many bookies have copies of your docs and how much do you trust each one?

Interesting point.

Our cards are stored in system for deposits/ withdrawals, not has a separate PayPal transaction each time.
Add in passports,drivers licences,
That’s the lot.full cloning.

If you buy from a shop,Amazon etc,or normal PayPal system, card might be stored in PayPal or with Amazon.
But they don’t need your passport.

When they need your passport, any money changing hands,is a one off payment,so not kept.

I m sure there’s a separate secure system.(at least I hope there is.).not that Betfair would do owt wrong, but can a couple of employees who are mates, one in passport office, the other in PayPal office, not sell this info etc.

The big main different is,regular payments, with I.D docs.its usually one or the other, both ,on a constant system.

Personally, never had any issue with security and bank etc,so I trust Betfair have these seperate fire walls,so it can’t happen.

They d pay you back anyway if it was a fault their end,

Anybody know any other commercial or government  type sites, where they have bank and passport stored, being used reguarlary,
Passport and one of payment is the norm, then card isn’t used again,

Tescos etc,don’t need passport,so again,not both.

I do not trust anyone or any entity whose employees are not governed by the Financial Conduct Authority with my money esp the transaction of money. One of them is the bookies.

I'd rather give up this leisure than divulge personal financial info to any bookie. No "my word is my bond" motto, I do not trust (financially).

Passports & driving licence thefts are about identity theft rather than money.

Payment card processing is governed by strict international security standards. Copies of your identity documents are not and might be kept online and unencrypted in any old folder.
