Report Rico-Dangleflaps • January 17, 2024 3:58 PM GMT
of course it depends where you think the line is and your opinion of the angle.
Report Wesdag • January 17, 2024 3:59 PM GMT
ok, fort the slow mo looked clear so then fort there might be a stewards & stayed out
Report Rico-Dangleflaps • January 17, 2024 4:00 PM GMT

Not a straight angle on the slo-mo at Newcastle.

only been doing UK for 6 months and you have got all the photo angles covered...

can take folk years to get to that stage tbh...

I do this full time, Hibby. That means I've manually traded all 307 races run at Newcastle since 27th July. It doesn't take 307 races to learn the photo angles.

i thought same didnt see race or result thought line and photo was proving outside horse won,so basically photo,s at n,castle favour those closest to rail
Report Rico-Dangleflaps • January 17, 2024 4:21 PM GMT
they dont favour anything..it favours if you know the angle the camera up in the box is coming from.
Report 1st time poster • January 17, 2024 4:23 PM GMT
does that change from meet to meet ?
or is that a wind up
otherwise it favours nearside rail
Report HappyHibby • January 17, 2024 4:34 PM GMT
that's what gave the game away 'jamee'...

someone new on here wouldn't just start attacking me for no reason (especially someone i had never even see before on here)...

the conspiracy theory stuff started alarm bells ringing...

schoolboy error that.

Where's the effing line after all?

re. who's really in front, depends on gap between horses across the track width but from the ATR video I generally give the far side horse another 2 inches minimum  (and that's from  more than 6 months betting at Newcastle Hibby!)
Report 1st time poster • January 17, 2024 5:00 PM GMT
excuse my ignorance
but if as seems if theres any advantage using pics provided its to near side, why would you be giving 2 inches to the far side ?,if anything you,d chance taking some off, wouldnt you ?
Report swiftynifty • January 17, 2024 5:03 PM GMT
the far side is nearer the winning line than it appears on ATR imv.

sorry i,m missing something here
if those who no, think the far side is always  closer than you think and the photo example and line given on here ,looks like the far side might have won
HOW DID IT LOSE ?
ive not seen race / or result just assuming by a post earlier that near side won
Report 1st time poster • January 17, 2024 5:36 PM GMT
right now no ,no 1 won nearside
so if as a n,castle photo guru says he gives 2 inches to far side, the far side wins
HOW DOES THAT HELP YOU IN PHOTO BETTING ?

photo betting is similar to betting in Stewards enqs - do it at your peril basically, as who knows how exactly a decision is made. For that reason, I'm out.

HOW DID IT LOSE ?

cos if you look at the 2 fotos i uploaded..the 1st one if you draw a line from mirror to the lollipop (who most presume is the line) if looks like far side has won..but the actual line from the box 10yds up in the sky the angle is 100% a foot further right from the lollipop so as ewe says it favours this side..but its very tricky and can easily catch ewe out.

would have been similar to brough park back in the 90's wen i was a pro there..i stood on line and thort i was very good judge..but the main bookermaker also had a decent judge on the line..only time i got value was when he disagreed with my opinion.

Alex Bird mentioned in his book that his run of winners in photo finishes ended when the bookmakers hired some top greyhound judges to also stand by the line.
Report swiftynifty • January 17, 2024 6:17 PM GMT
1tp, forget rico's artwork, I'm watching on ATR TV, I use their still or do my own. I made the near side a winner by 4 inches so added on 2 inches to the far side so had the near side winning by 2 inches. It won by 2 inches.
If i didn't fear rico was on track peering through the judge's window and acting accordingly, I would've made a killing.
Report 1st time poster • January 17, 2024 6:20 PM GMT
if as it seems people agree near side has advantage on tv pics, once youe established you think its won on the pics   ,why would you worry about the one on far side
what do you do if you think the far side has won ?
Report HappyHibby • January 17, 2024 6:21 PM GMT
Mr.Hunt has a livestream in to the judge's box swifty...

common knowledge that tbh.
Report swiftynifty • January 17, 2024 6:26 PM GMT
1tp, the FAR side is always further ahead then it appears imv. Although I wouldn't be certain the ATR camera position doesn't change from time to time, sometimes it is even more pronounced imv.

Hibby, it'll probably all come out in rico's memoirs that he's been the judge there for years!

think it was 3.5 pre atr slo-mo.
i was less certain after the slo-mo, to be honest it was my first bet of the day and don't play ATR as a rule, I had sighted my 'still' a bit after the line , was watching Ronnie O'Sullivan doc on Amazon

i was trying to stop so didnt notice the betting till winner was 1.3..a m8 then said it opened 3 ish..i know the angle very well but becos this games so hard now i rarely guess...i wasnt certain this side had won and if only had ATR i cudnt have bet this side as it doesnt look the winner.
Report swiftynifty • January 17, 2024 8:19 PM GMT
I agree, it's harder to win nowadays so guessing/hunch is only at a certain price.

I think that fixed ATR camera may have moved slightly, do you have any photo finish pics from say 6 months back on file?
Report Rico-Dangleflaps • January 17, 2024 8:25 PM GMT
no..can only really go from the slo mo for betting as the ATR angle is prob 20 degrees..
