it is rated 10, they only show them as min 45 on the racecard, haway man ffs..if an officially rated 10 horse was running in a h/cap with a 55 top rated and min weight 9-0 it would be running 46lbs out the h/cap. |

Ratings are irrelevant in some cases if the horse never won a race and sp showing up to 100/1 Then they come down a few pounds and they think they are well in….the horse in question is what it is and will probably never win a race…. Highest it ran off was 66 ffs…… The trainer was saying he was just back from Barbados……..ffs |

ace, my fav banded racing memory was backing a Derek Shaw/Dean McKeown at 4-1 in the morning, it went off 9-2 a PLACE! it was rotten then, as for now ??? the prize money is even worse now so what do we think?! ‘air shot’ Dean Swifty……..I was once told by a retired well known they can tug and whip at the same time Ha ha ha the pink on the exchange was the best invention ever ha ha ha “we love it” Rancid ! |

Not surprised you think ratings are irrelevant Quixall as you seem to pick horses and then put in caveats regarding the trainer or jockey e.g Ellison, Havlin et al and then tip them and/ or then change your mind. If the jockey or trainer is where you start an analysis then you will never win long term whether you like or dislike them matters not, anyone who does not start with the horse is on a hiding to nothing including ignoring ratings where known.

Punters who moan about a trainer getting a handicap mark should pay attention and use what they can glean from known connections of such practices if they have the patience Quixall, not always obvious granted but a valuable addition to a punters armoury imo?

Ratings are a guide, nothing more. If that Boughey horse could've run off his true mark of 10 he would've been bet of the century. It proves ratings are often meaningless and open to manipulation. But I'm not saying anything we don't all already know.

Ratings are a guide, nothing more. correct..but i asked him what did he think its OR shud be..he cudnt answer cos didnt have a clue..now if i put a lay up of a 60 rated horse and ewe asked me why i was laying..i'd prob reply cos i think its a OR 50 rated horse. |

it was 5/1 at the time i asked what ewe thort its OR shud be..ewe said 6-7 meaning price..ewe really telling a horse that ewe think shud be 6/1 is a lay at 5/1?
