I feel sorry for Ascot - they continually put on NH races with good prize money, but get poor fields. The Hirst Park Chase last month was another. What is it about the track that owners/trainers don't like?
Similar to the last time the race was run, just 12 runners, years gone by have seen fields of 16 - 20 generally, have they changes the terms and conditions?
Yes went to Catterick on Tuesday, enjoyed it,Mark and his pal Michael were there and are going Saturday so I said I'd probably go,card's cut up there a bit too,on that theme only 7 entered in the Finale Wednesday,2 of them Joseph O'Brien.
It's not just the lack of numbers, it's a £150k handicap hurdle and the top rated horse is 142 !!
Yes, crickey! It's worth 50% more than the County Hurdle!
