Revision to blame for the trouble.

1.7  seems big to keep. Should be 1.2 IMO

Really ?

Maybe I missed something, then, but looked to me that jockey on ULTRA' made the move deliberately to cut off the fav'.

Agree bluebook but it's the last race of an evening meeting and the stewards want to get on the Xmas sauce

If it's a deliberate move then should go
Looked like there was a gap there originally

Haven't seen a head on replay though

the more you look the more at fault the winner is, was assisted by revision but battered the fav. unfortunately, the stewards are complete amateurs and you should stay away from betting on anything odds on if they clowns are involved.

Thought the jockey on the winner should have waited, Revision didn't cause much interference and was straightened up a good couple of strides before Ultra made his move. Should go IMO, no way did Revision cause enough interference to make Ultra make that extreme move.

Thats a tough one. the second should have won, there is possibly mitigation for the winner but additionally the jockey switched left to avoid Revision without checking what was there

That was my initial impression too, SC.

Yeah, Revision's come across a tiny bit, when ahead, then straightened, then two strides later Ultra has just decked the second basically. Has to go for me but I doubt it will.

Surprised there was anything matched at 1.01 on fptp...

Surely was obvious in running that could be a problem

Would that have stood in the US ?

Pointless question, but I would've felt like I'd been chinned if I'd been on the fav', tbh.

So, there you are...
Most on this thread thought it should go, but also thought that it wouldn't
And proved right

Don't know what that says about us and our faith in stewards

Sporting Life comments in running for the 2nd are interesting.

You'd think Revision had come across and wiped everything out. There was nothing in that to make Ultramarine dive over to the rail.

Race 8 - 8:30pm
THE BETMGM: IT'S SHOWTIME HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5)

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference shortly after turning into the home straight when REVISION, unplaced, ridden by Clifford Lee, interfered with the winner, ULTRAMARINE (IRE), ridden by Alistair Rawlinson, who in turn interfered with THE CALTONIAN, placed second, ridden by Jonny Peate. The Stewards found that the interference was initiated by REVISION, and therefore ULTRAMARINE (IRE) and THE CALTONIAN were both sufferers of the interference. As a result of this and the fact that both horses had finished in front of REVISION, the Stewards found that the interference did and could not effect the placings of either in relation to each other. The Stewards found the interference to be accidental as REVISION had drifted left-handed before being quickly corrected carrying ULTRAMARINE (IRE) onto THE CALTONIAN.

Following the race, Clifford Lee reported that REVISION, unplaced, hung left-handed and Elisha Whittington reported that A PINT OF BEAR (IRE), unplaced, ran too free.

Having watched it again on the SL website, it's noticeable that the winner gets a little squeezed up by REVISION, but only because Rawlinson on ULTRA' is determined to get the gap between REVISION and THE CALTONIAN. Rawlinson clearly knew he'd caused a problem for THE CALTONIAN since he takes a look over his left shoulder.

But, I wouldn't say it was absolutely clear-cut. Connections of ULTRA' will be pleased their jockey pulled out all the stops to win.

Eh, Rico ?

REVISION has been mentioned.

Maybe us mortals had doubts as we don't have the benefit of your omniscience from your lofty perch above us all.

ive just seen the hd on...it was blatantly obvious revision took the winner towards the rail which hmp the 2nd..it was a full bank job to stand.

Wazza... You were noticeable by your absence on this thread until...
The result stands announced

Now telling us all it was obvious

4/6 and 6/4 in the stewards suggests otherwise
