PC help please

3 hours I’ve spent on this cr@p. TBH I’m sick to death of Microsoft,Windows,Updates and constant cookie warnings. Fecking internet

You say you've tried all the function keys on start up to try to get to the boot options. Have you tried the Esc key ? - that can be the option on some PCs

Switch off at wall, start in safe mode, system restore to pre update?

Re cookies, add an extension called "I don't care about cookies" to your browser, and you never see another cookie warning again.

That's what I always do and your machine will work far better afterwards.

When my computer used to reboot from an unplugging
it went through various actions.

One was.... on screen... start in safe mode?

Had about 20 secs or so to hit "return" when
that was on screen

Might have been "start in safe mode y/n?"

I used to set computer to block auto updates.

If update was recommended I would Google it before installing.

Security updates I usually installed, but upgrades
were rejected, unless unavoidable.

If you're using a wireless keyboard it could be that the PC is booting before it recognises any key presses. If you have an old wired keyboard try booting into safe mode using that.

The aim is to be able to try and get into Settings and then do what Rico suggests with the Recovery options.

Sometimes my computer would just freeze and no keys worked.

So escape and everything else was useless

Unplugging at wall was all that worked.

Rico, my computer is very slow, windows 10, if I do same will it sort it do you think, and what about passwords etc? Any advice appreciated

My computer took about 40 mins to do a recent update -I was convinced it was stuck but eventually huge sigh of relief when it went back to the start screen.

copy your passwords to paper is the only option really as it only shows password one at a time so cant screenshot them..then reset windows 10 back to new..simple enuff to do.

unless your device has a top processor and loads of ram they can take a long time.

All my computers are controlled by my voice ,and named Brass 1 to Brass 26.
if i say"Brass 17, go to the betfair gambling site and place £50 on Arsenal to beat Liverpool at the best price, it is done within 5 minutes,and 17 then calls the bet back to me in Alexa voice and quotes reference number and time placed and price.

So if you just switch you computer to voice control and tell it to fix itself ,it should do the trick

Better still,just switch to voice control,switch A1 on,and instruct it to make a grand profit on the racing during the night,then you can buy a new state of the art ai computer in the morning.
