Bit harsh. The race does have 3 horses of the highest class and 5 festival grade 1 winners. The other one is no rag either.

Is that how a trainer treat ante-post punters

Just what responsibility does a trainer have to ante-post punters?
Absolutely pathetic the whingeing that goes on about this issue.
If you don;t like the possibility of a non-starter don;t bet ante-post.  Simple.

Everyone knew the track would not suit Gerri, but his trainer thought otherwise. I think he'd have run if Allaho was an absentee. The Savills Chase is more taxing, I think.

Beats me how Trainer thinks a Horse wont like the Track when its never ever been there. One mistake is all it takes to change the face of a Race.

'acey', I'd not back Gerri with granny's money at Kempton - it's too sharp for me; Cheltenham is entirely different.

I fancy Fastorslow to beat Galopin Des Champs (again) in the Savills Chase, but not sure about Gerri. If Gerri wins he'll be 7/4f for Cheltenham.

You would not back Gerri at Kempton imp but you would back Fastorslow at Leopardstown where he has ran three times before and tailed off every time....He wont be Winning at Leopardstown buddy.Wink

I did not know that 'acey'. I think Fastorslow is a different horse this season; he beat Galopin Des Champs 2x fairly and squarely. The unknown is Gerri; he cost me money 'laying' him in the King George, and had to back me again to manage losses.

Good question?

I thought he'd be a non-runner being Kempton thus lay him a mega odds. But, Elliot decided to pitch him. As such, I'd to back him to ensure 'green' no matter what the outcome is. Now, Hewick could be a big thorn; I lay him too.

Not sure how anyone could be so confident Gerri would be unsuited to Kempton.
Has won over shorter trips, been beaten only once in his career and won at a variety of tracks.

If you read between the lines which was easy enough, the ground was more important than the track.
