This is "the race that stops a nation".There is 18 race meetings taking place in Australia tomorrow.
I've a small interest in last years winner Gold Trip. Good luck all. |

If you use a VPN selecting an Australian router and you switch your betfair account address to a Victoria post code then you can log into BF Australia and lay Vauban at 3.25 instead of the 4.1 for us Brits.
Just remember to factor in the GBP-AUD rate for your trade. Freeeee Moneyyyy |

wasn't 9/4 Acey, it was 5.9 as they were going in the stalls, but nice shout nonetheless.
cracking ride on the winner, ignored the suicidal pace. 10.1's for the Caulfield Cup winner ![]() |

17.0 ir for over a grand despite travelling sweetly. someone bailing out of their bet I assume.

was 20 lengths behind 1000 metres out but Serpentine etc were always going to fall in a hole

Good shout on Vauban Acey. You are totally wrong on your remarks about NSW not being interested in "Race of the Nation". I was in Port Macquarie in northern NSW a decade or so back on Melbourne Cup day. The streets were full of ladies in their racing finery off to the pubs and clubs, it was quite amazing.

wd Acey my daughter is in Melbourne atm and her friend she is travelling with is working at the racecourse in VIP area taking bets
she said Saturday was quiet in there but was told Tuesday would be mayhem... will wait to see what she says |

By:
Well done 'acey'. I've yet to watch the race; 7/2 was a bookie's benevolent price. And, it was proven emphatically.

Mullins maybe we got the tactics wrong……I thought that was up to the best jockey in the world…..ffs…

Just watched the race. The fav Vauban was in a good position coming off the bend with stablemate Absurde alongside. I think Vauban did not get home.
How can a horse who's never won a competitive 2m flat race start fav in a GP 1 handicap in Australia? Hoodwinked (by connections) or greed (easy money) perhaps a rather common phenomenon in this game. Btw, another crass runner is Serpentine - the horse gifted the Epsom Derby - is plying his trade in Australia too. The horse has never won a race since Epsom, and trounced out-of-sight over this distance (2m). He finished 19th in a 23-runner race. |
|
By:
Think he won a race in Brisbane this year. But what a shame he wasn't looked after differently - who ever heard of a Derby winner being gelded?
|
|
By:
An Epsom Derby winner sold by Coolmore? An alarm bell in itself to me. What an astute sale by Coolmore? A double whammy by buyer buying the horse and subsequently gelding it. All or nothing gamble which did not pay off.
|
|
By:
Surely he'd have earned a fair bit at stud whatever his subsequent record?
