hes by justify who coolmore have invested a lot in. hes doing very well this season at stud with g1 winning two year olds already in america and europe. both filies though.
it is very important for coolmore to have a g1 winning 2yo colt for justify and this is the horse. he was very impressive at york on good to soft ground. surprised he hasnt run since. a bit weird that he was pulled out of the curragh.
aidan has said hes an unusual horse in that he doesnt seem to get tired. interesting stuff. get ready for the superlatives if he wins easily.

If he runs tomorrow. I think he'll unless 30mm of precipitation between now and race time. I fancy Haatem (66/1) as forecast.

Think he's 50/50 to run. If he does he'll be too short. he's never ran at York and it could be much softer tomorrow. Also he's too small.

"The ground is not going to be ideal for City Of Troy," said trainer Aidan O'Brien. "He moves beautifully and would prefer real good ground, but we're running out of options and we need to get that third run of the season into him.
"Everything has gone well since he was supposed to run at the Curragh. He's the same weight now as he was going to the Curragh so he has obviously matured and got stronger. Even in the States they’ve realised how useful the justifies are on turf. Would be a big win. But didn’t they pull him from that last race in Ireland because if the ground? And this be worse because it’s that drying sticky ground…I suppose a dirt horse might like that but still lol |

AOB did not run him in the National because of this race, and Henry Longfellow would go on soft. As this is the final race of the season for City Of Troy running him is prudent, I think; if he's "stuck" in the ground Moore will no doubt let him come home in his own time like he did with Auguste Rodin and Ylang Ylang.

looking at the time of the first race. The going no worse than gd-sft. No excuses for City of Troy. Will probably have no more than another 7 races in its lifetime. Will it ever get beat?

Would Coolmore let him go to their nemesis Godolphin for £100m? I'd if he was mine, but I'd doubt it very much as it's Godolphin. |
