And still the bha are going to force small independent tracks who get healthy attendances to race at obscure times next season whilst jcr tracks get well looked after in the fixture list despite been unable to get people through the gates,
Jcr still run a card only policy whilst attendance figures plummet .
I haven't been racing since courses went card only.
Imagine if everyone just stopped giving cashless businesses their money.
Of course that would never happen with the sheeple in the UK....

Totally agree about the madness of giving tracks who don't get crowds the support on Saturdays and moving the popular fixtures at smaller tracks. Money talks in this game and the off course bookmakers are pulling the strings and the big courses are "I'm alright Jack".

Yes wasnot nothing wrong with the cost of entry very good racing to ,it’s probable the damage is already done with all this card only nonsense many people don’t like banks and any future lenders knowing they like a drink and a bet.

Never known JCR to charge booking fees but ARC always do.
Not sure "Premierisation" is really about attendances but more aimed at upping betting turnover. The theory is more prize money better horses, more turnover. Time will tell.

I didn't want to mention Sat night Jimnast, still not fully recovered ... Bring on the English...Pity you won't make it but I'm sure we'll see you before the season is out, heading to Ludlow next month maybe there..

Jimnast, just looked on site myself,it says 2200,3300,7200,nothing to write home about but similar to last year?
That is new ribero1. They have changed the figures. I'm guessing they've sold 4,000 tickets on Saturday plus annual members but that's not what the message was previously. Said total attendance 4050.

As we speak workrider I’m trying to organise Sligo and Wexford at the end of October, prefer to go by ferry nowadays as cost of car horse over there is ridiculous but trying to navigate the ferries is impossible

Regarding the rugby workrider simply incredible game never seen one like it,as far as the competition goes I don’t think it made any difference to who wins it both were always going to have hard 1/4 finals before they meet again.

Even the low Saturday figure may be optimistic. Train strike means no trains at all to Cambridge or Newmarket. Scuppers me. I had a hotel booked for Friday night in Newmarket but pointless staying now as it is £150 taxi back to London. Ryder Cup and Longchamp.....can't see many "walk-ups" with no trains and a fair few , like me, will be mindful of "sunken cost fallacy" and decline to spend a load more simply because they have bought non-refundable tickets and hotels. 4 goof races to be fair, but the rest are missable for the extra price. These train strikes are terribly annoying.

Mrs and I went up to the Kelso meeting workrider, could have bought you a drink.
Thought that Minella Youngy ran a great first chase, only a 5yo. Fast run race stayed on very well. One to keep on side.

This rail mob Donegal need to be careful many are already planning ahead without considering trains due to the uncertainty eventually there won’t be enough using the rail road to keep these idle t.ats in a job.
I was listening to the teachers moaning this morning about the rise in kids not turning up for school ,probably the parents have realised with all the strikes it’s not that important anyway.

Used to stay up in Gosforth when working in the NE. Good access to Brough Park. Used to go to greyhound night meets, lot of handicap races, raced on a peat surface, very safe.
Often wondered if it would suit horse racing. Perhaps the cost prohibitive.
Shame the track is long gone.

not been to newmarket since the 1981 2000 guineas . has it changed much ? .. those projected attendance figures are a disgrace . they are doing something very wrong . would be more in the champagne bar at york every day this year . obviously, being in the middle of nowhere with virtually no public transport and not being able to see a thing from the stands is a likely factor .
