Admission into tatts is £10 on Thursday and Friday and £16 on Saturday which is very reasonable. Cashless policy going well isn't it JCR?
By:
I haven't been racing since courses went card only.
Imagine if everyone just stopped giving cashless businesses their money. Of course that would never happen with the sheeple in the UK.... |
By:
Totally agree about the madness of giving tracks who don't get crowds the support on Saturdays and moving the popular fixtures at smaller tracks. Money talks in this game and the off course bookmakers are pulling the strings and the big courses are "I'm alright Jack".

Fodder,remember the word…

Spot on wasnot the online bookmakers are runnng uk horse racing
Benny I have stopped using card only places when possible. |
By:
Yes wasnot nothing wrong with the cost of entry very good racing to ,it’s probable the damage is already done with all this card only nonsense many people don’t like banks and any future lenders knowing they like a drink and a bet.

Good grief! just looked at last years,2408,2855,6843.
By:
Jimnast, just looked on site myself,it says 2200,3300,7200,nothing to write home about but similar to last year?
By:
I must admit when I saw the figures I posted I was very surprised
By:
Yes they normally include their Annual members in the attendance so presumably there's a few of those?
By:
Newmarket would have a good membership they would have an extra member if they did a rowley mile only membership
By:
Bit like Cheltenham, they do a senior membership which I now qualify for but completely scuppered by excluding the festival so still get the full one.

@Ribero
One for you when cash was king. Brown, Brennan, Kelly, Topper, Leslie et al ![]() |
By:
Are they charging a booking fee on top of £10.00?
Usually do. |
By:
Jimnast will you be there Sat , flying over with a couple of friends..
By:
Are they charging a booking fee on top of £10.00?
Usually do Never known JCR to charge booking fees but ARC always do. Not sure "Premierisation" is really about attendances but more aimed at upping betting turnover. The theory is more prize money better horses, more turnover. Time will tell. |
By:
No workrider unfortunately not I will be staying local at haydock ,looks 3 good days racing this week I’m sure you will enjoy it but probably not as much as last Saturday night.
By:
That might well be the case the pies but at the cost of losing racegoers forever.
By:
Great photo Rigsby,I see Ladbrokes are in by then so not long before it closed.
By:
Could be Jimnast. I can't really see a windfall emerging from it but I presume it's partly driven by data from the bookies on betting patterns.
By:
I didn't want to mention Sat night Jimnast, still not fully recovered ... Bring on the English.
..Pity you won't make it but I'm sure we'll see you before the season is out, heading to Ludlow next month maybe there.. |
By:
Jimnast, just looked on site myself,it says 2200,3300,7200,nothing to write home about but similar to last year?
That is new ribero1. They have changed the figures. I'm guessing they've sold 4,000 tickets on Saturday plus annual members but that's not what the message was previously. Said total attendance 4050. |
By:
As we speak workrider I’m trying to organise Sligo and Wexford at the end of October, prefer to go by ferry nowadays as cost of car horse over there is ridiculous but trying to navigate the ferries is impossible
By:
Thanks Wasnot.
By:
Regarding the rugby workrider simply incredible game never seen one like it,as far as the competition goes I don’t think it made any difference to who wins it both were always going to have hard 1/4 finals before they meet again.
By:
where are you racing next Jimnast?
By:
Friday Saturday haydock ribero then ascot the following week ,might have a ride to sedgefield Tuesday there’s a nice fish and chip shop oncourse.

By:
Yes weather looks ok from tomorrow ribero,I’m still waiting for todays storm the weather girl said was coming.
By:
Even the low Saturday figure may be optimistic. Train strike means no trains at all to Cambridge or Newmarket. Scuppers me. I had a hotel booked for Friday night in Newmarket but pointless staying now as it is £150 taxi back to London. Ryder Cup and Longchamp.....can't see many "walk-ups" with no trains and a fair few , like me, will be mindful of "sunken cost fallacy" and decline to spend a load more simply because they have bought non-refundable tickets and hotels. 4 goof races to be fair, but the rest are missable for the extra price. These train strikes are terribly annoying.

By:
good races!
By:
That would be storm agnes Jim on its way to Scotland this evening. You may escape.
By:
We have the storm atm, I was heading to Bellewstown turned back rain is unreal, Jimnast we are having the same trouble hiring cars in U.K. Went to Kelso 2 weeks ago and hired a car from Newcastle and it was pretty high , we hired one from Manchester to York for the Juddemont it was over £300 for the day, not sure what its costing for Sat but they ain't cheap that's for sure...
By:
Give up on the ferry impossible to navigate the site why is everything so complicated?
By:
Mrs and I went up to the Kelso meeting workrider, could have bought you a drink.
Thought that Minella Youngy ran a great first chase, only a 5yo. Fast run race stayed on very well. One to keep on side. |
By:
Pity I didn't know that barstool, it would have been nice to have met you and the Wife, I absolutely love the drive across the Northumberland National Park its simply beautiful...

Very few things in racing beats a day out at Kelso
