A lot of form to look through, with the runners beaten 650 times between them. Don't do that. Make a shortlist of the ones who have yet to be defeated 20 times and narrow it down to ORAZIO and PROBE. As it happens, these two were first and second in the 6f h'cap at the Craven meeting this spring, and preference is for PROBE, sent off jt fav, beaten a length but now 7lbs better in with the winner.
Usual caveats about the draw but an exchange price of 23 in a 24 runner field looks very fair.
What surprised me was despite the Silver Cup showing that high drawn horses had very little chance, the prices of the high drawn horses in Gold Cup hardly moved and some came in.

It's true I would not be complaining if the race worked out for my bet but am I the only one sick of the surfeit of big-field hcaps through the summer? SIGNIFANTLY having been beaten 25 times already. What new is there to say about Mr Wagyu or Escobar, next time they're on tv?
We can argue whether these big-field sprint hcaps are what the public wants but, for sure, it suits bookmakers betting to their 1 1/2% per runner formula at 1/5of the odds EW. Sure, the winners of today's races were "well backed", returning sp backers for the Ayr Silver/Gold Cup 50/1, although there were 600 combinations.
