At a Coral's shop on their Bet Station terminal. Makes the ave odds 1.466.
Given the huge over rounds on them it's fair to assume the average price on the exchange was at least 1.55. That would have returned £2,564,000. Alternatively his 35bet was actually worth £0.95. Not that he'll be particularly bothered
A Coral customer is celebrating a life-changing windfall after he landed an incredible 30-match sports bet last week which turned his £5 stake into almost half a million pounds.
The Rotherham man, who wishes to remain anonymous, placed the 30-leg acca on a self-service betting terminal in a Coral shop in the South Yorkshire town, and scooped £486,000 when all the selections in his accumulator won, at combined odds of over 97,000/1.
“The bet ran over several days and included specific outcomes in five tennis matches and 25 football matches – from Israel v Belarus to Scotland v England, and concluded with Sporting Lisbon v Moreirense on Sunday night. He needed Sporting Lisbon to win with 1 to 5 goals in the game, and Sporting won 3-0,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
“After 28 legs, he was offered a cash-out option of £222,000, which he – wisely as it turned out – said no to, and was ultimately rewarded with all 30 legs winning, at odds of over 97,000/1.
“It’s fair to say shock was his first reaction to realising all 30 legs had won, but unsurprisingly he was soon celebrating what he has said is a life-changing amount.
“In over two decades at Coral, I’ve never seen such an incredible winning bet. To get four or five predictions right is hard enough, to get 30 is extraordinary, and this punter deserves every penny of his £486,000.”

Exactly Penzance! He obviously had no interest in the last 2 legs. Instead he was doing his ironing or watching Antiques Roadshow. Only briefly turning his attention away from said 2 tasks to check the result of the Sporting Lisbon game. And once the result was known, he turned to his wife and said "I'm shocked I tell you, shocked!" before turning his attention back to the Antiques Roadshow.

I know at least one person on this thread who could.
Not arguing anyway. My position on any exotic bet is, would you put that amount on if you had it in your hand. The vast majority would not. I learned that lesson very early on when I was still not officially old enough to bet. Had a £5 treble with Oh So Risky leading at the last hurdle on the last leg, and he got beat

"just another imaginary win announced by a bookmaker to get some new customers sucked in to impossible acca bets"
There are hundreds of thousands of people doing these bets every day; it stands to reason some of them occasionally come off to provide bookie PR fodder?
"have you noticed nearly all these massive acca winners are all 'anonymous' yet lottery winners cant wait to be in the limelight"
Does seem strange - inviting begging letters and the like.

quite so. the top jollies at koral got together and came up with something to get them into the limelight. this time they decided to stretch credulity by making it a 30 leg acca. all were sworn to secrecy because exposure would lead to their dismissal and humiliate the company and destroy whatever credibilty it had
yes, that sounds about it. but they reckoned without this forum genius

all were, of course, sworn to secrecy. this is what happened;
'lets make up bet- nobby-you put in some nutty football, herbet, you plonk in a bit of tennis, tristran, find some obscure extreme hopscotch and chuck that in as well. how many events should we invent? 10? naa, not wacky enuff. 20. mmm. lets really push the boat out, how about 30?
'thirty!! youisavinalaff-nobody will believe it.'
'course they will, we only have to fear the betfair forum, but nobody reads that any more so we are sweet'
'what if we get caught?, we will all be sacked'
'never mind, if nobody squeals we can pull this off'
'but why? whats in it for us?'
'never mind. its a giggle and we will make the daily star'
all; 'ok. lets do this!'
trebles all round

Yeah. Who would believe a mug punter would string together a load of odd-on shots? Has this ever happened before?
Never mind the racing shrewdies do the same thing every Cheltenham.
And the cashout was offered with only 2 legs left, apparently. After 28 winners, the guy was probably feeling lucky.

I do a couple of these every week…but mostly on stuff I’m planning to watch.
You will be surprised by some of the odds on shots that get turned over.
Had one a couple months back that only had a few legs left but Penrith Panther managed to lose at 1/40.
Which had me thinking about a potential counter strategy to pick up a huge score.
I think Rugby in general has some wonky prices that can be exploited…just today Portugal nicked a draw vs Georgia…and they should’ve won too.
Super league, NRL and Union…got to be a way to land some sort of fantasy acca with outsiders imo.

Massive drop follows this trading statement from Entain. https://tools.eurolandir.com/tools/Pressreleases/GetPressRelease/?ID=4383139&lang=en-GB&companycode=lu-gvc&v=newdesign
It starts Post the summer, Online Net Gaming Revenue (NGR) has been mixed across the Group, but in aggregate, softer than anticipated. Q3 Online NGR growth is now expected to be up high single-digit percent, and down high single digit percent on a proforma basis. Key drivers include:
· Adverse sporting results impacting sports margins during September
· Group wide implementation of industry leading safer gambling measures and ongoing regulatory headwinds persisting longer than expected, particularly in the UK
· Slower growth than expected in Australia and Italy
· Good underlying Online growth (ex-regulatory impacts) as evidenced by further strong proforma growth in active customers across the quarter
· Strong performance from recent acquisitions, particularly SuperSport in Croatia
· Robust performance across Retail
· BetMGM in the US continuing to perform well: on track to deliver positive EBITDA in the second half of 2023; FY2023 NGR at the upper end of $1.8-$2.0bn guidance; and the successful rollout of Single Account Single Wallet, as well as online sportsbook enhancements supporting strong start to the NFL season
We now expect Group Online NGR for FY2023 to be up low double-digit percent with proforma NGR down low single digit percent. We reiterate our expectations for FY2023 EBITDA to be in the range of £1.00bn-£1.05bn supported by robust operational controls.

We implemented Affordability Checks voluntarily and way, way sooner than we had to. Additionally we (voluntarily) set them at a far lower level than was necessary (some might say we set them at a Draconian level). Having done that, the gambling review has dragged on and on, with delay after delay after delay, leaving us stuck in the ridiculous position that we chose to put ourselves into, for far longer than anticipated. This has cost us a bleedin' fortune in the short term.

NGR - net gaming revenue - basically the money they make out of betting/gaming, including costs of promos like free bets and BOG, but not the underlying costs of running the business.
EBITDA - earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation - basically the profit they make from what they do, including all the day-to-day costs of running the business, but before all the things listed (which can wildly skew reported profit from year to year).
