Almost every near miss I have is an Amazon van, shocking driving standards.

A poor bloke (part-time) was trying to earn a few extra £. He was stopped (on tv) by coppers in a patrol car for not having the correct insurance. As such, he was done for driving without insurance. Not only did he receive a fine, he also got points.

A double whammy.

Amazon Flex require you to use your own vehicle.

I covered for someone in delivery for a week once and it's awful when you are not familiar with the round.
I went through a side gate at one large house- no one in- and a rotty walked up, took my wrist in

    Luckily the ANPR camera doesnt differenciate between rich or poor, any uninsured driver should face a minimum  1 yr ban plus a fine of twice what his original insurance would have been.

I've been looking into it. Does anyone do it? Is it worth doing? How much extra is the correct car insurance?

The coppers spotted the car loaded with parcels. Maybe visibility was impeded. It was not the ANPR.

If you do apply and want to get the job, be sure to tell them in the interview:

1) You used to be a get-away driver
2) When you were young you used to play "knock-door-run" and you never ever got caught.

The fella that does it round here, I struggle to believe he has passed his test. He basically always drives like the police are already chasing him. Maybe he is just practicing, for when it inevitably really happens.

I'd a package comprising 5 items with a total weight of 15kg, and an Apple Macbook Air lost. Both use Packlind as the agent. Inside job? I was a buyer.

It seems very popular but long-term I'm not sure it is worth it.

You will need Hire & Purchase insurance. Amazon suggest using a company called INSURE who have quoted me 0.47p per hour.

Amazon also suggest that you contact your SD&P insurance company to let them know of the change of details. Some say you may also need business insurance as you will be likely to use more than one Amazon depot. but I think the extra cost for that is negligible.

Now the problem. My SD&P is with Hastings Direct who will not allow any bolt-on insurance to be added on. It appears that the only companies that do are Admiral and Direct Line. Direct Line are ridiculously over priced. In fact all the insurance companies are now ridiculously over priced with premiums increasing by 30-40% in August!

July I paid £465 with Hastings Direct. I can cancel for £45 and start again with Admiral but their quote is £935

A 3 hour block at Amazon Flex pays approx. £50. 
Minus fuel approx. 100 miles @ 0.15p per mile £15

Not including the unknown cost of wear and tear/deprecation cost due to extra mileage on your vehicle leaves £35 profit or £11.66 per hour.

As already paid-out an extra £500 in Insurance 500/11.66 = 43 hours before breaking even??

So no don't think so

Unless you don't tell you insurance company as I suspect most do not.
