Second carried the winner right, then the winner brushed the second as it tried to keep its line.
Should keep the race imo.

screaming from beneaththewaves 27 Aug 23 17:10 Hard to bet on any photo now, unless they're on opposite sides of the track.
thats always been the caveat.

Missed out on treble, 4.20 race had royal Dubai, knew that was the weakest link, should picked the winner was proven over distance, stuck to my original bet was going to be 800 double ocean quest and the gate keeper

Just missed out a massive payday, didn't go there - had laid Gatekeeper win pre race - when the fptp went to about 1.03 I laid off stake plus about a tenner, so didn't lose out...but considered a lumpy lay as I had inkling this would be a stewards...but didn't press the button. Typical.

Watched in real time and did not even consider a stewards.
Only realised it had been reversed when I looked at the results just now!!
Some of these decisions recently???Watched in real time and did not even consider a stewards.Only realised it had been reversed when I looked at the results just now!!
Must say, this one has to be one of the poorest DQs I've seen - the one promoted to winner caused some of the contact. Plus no way to be certain result was changed by such minimal contact.

The gate keeper looked like it had won to me on the line, commentary where convinced and called it right for thunder ball, so if there was as any interference if deserved to be thrown out

What a cheat just watched the replay, twice it interfered with the gate keeper, 2nd time you can see his deliberate move with his elbow, easy decision must of been

what i find most annoying is the fact jockeys are allowed to go anywhere near the stewards room, and the 'best' talker can often sway it. The stewards can see what happened and the distance any interference may have cost another horse, why/how it happened is irrelevant.

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final ½ furlong when the winner, THUNDER BALL, ridden by Mohammed Tabti, interfered with THE GATEKEEPER (IRE), placed second, ridden by Rossa Ryan. The Stewards considered that the interference had improved THUNDER BALL’s placing as the gelding made contact with THE GATEKEEPER (IRE) on two occasions, causing THE GATEKEEPER (IRE) to be shifted left-handed off its intended course with a diminishing nose between them at the line. The Stewards revised the placings as follows: First – THE GATEKEEPER (IRE), Second – THUNDER BALL, Third – OUZO, Fourth – ESCOBAR (IRE), Fifth – SUDDEN AMBUSH. Tabti was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed without sufficient correction bumping THE GATEKEEPER (IRE) twice.

tomo, I never knew that was reversed, I had the fptp never checked back! looked minimal from side on, head on must've shown something far worse with that winning distance.

didnt..winner shot clear..2nd had to slightly check to its left ..winners won 3/4L easing down..just glad i had left..shocking decision..multi million sport run at times by imcompetent absolute clowns.

Just checked now and wondered why my bank had been murdered as i plunged twice after winning on the photo:these decisions are turning racing into a near total lottery; only rarely is there consistency from the stewards; u might as well throw a dice - hope the eventual 2nd appeals. In essence i believe a single panel decide all such finishes, the default shouldbe that the result is not overturned unless it is clear that the second past the line was the better and more likely winner - if in doubt don't change the result. If there was foul play or dangerous riding thats a different scenario. And if seems that the winner cannot be fairly determined then why not judge them 1st equal?

From brief memory the head on didnt show anything major, as Rico said - neither jock had to stop riding, just coming close a couple of times or slight brushing together and both moving slightly off a straight line at times in last 100yds or so: pretty harsh to interfere with the result and take the hard fought win away fro the first past the post.

It was a crap decision; there was a very slight drift to the left that the 2nd was very slightly spooked by and the horse missed half a stride. Then itself in the ride for the line rolled into winner very slightly which keeping more straight had no real affect on fptp
It was all practically nowt, and as others said totally spurious to suggest enough interference either way. I was surprised to see the betting go as high as twos-on to keep, but even that implies the stewards too a liberty, which ain’t unheard which is the point that the stewards are often fkn useless.

As Mohammed Tabti is a claimer, does he have to be accompanied by a senior jockey or can he choose to be accompanied? If the latter who was it? Rossa Ryan must have put up a good case (which is his job)

suspicious that reversal, charlie has done terrible there no winner goodwood week 3 beat friday including 2 short ones, another short one beat yesterday before the reversal, the old man was champion trainer there for years and they want him to keep coming back, thats nonsense to think that but is it? they had to be sure the horse would have won without interference and i didnt agree with that, the appeal should tell us more, but that lucky win breaks a 49 losing run

Indeed Knowall there is an appeal -per RP "Connections of Thunder Ball didn't agree with the stewards' decision and joint-trainer Oliver Cole said: "The owners want to appeal the decision, so that is what we will be doing."

The RP need to get their heads out of their backsides and start actually reporting on this inept stewarding.
Seen nothing other than the odd 'straight' report on outcomes.
Surely they must be watching the same thing that we all are?
It's not good for racing.

Watch the replay on sporting life, can see the jockey elbowing his way into the other horse, nose between them on the line, easy decision to throw that horse out, are you blind
