Say you own the runner that finishes 4th (last) in the Juddmont. That's 53k for jogging around the

course, much more if there's a non runner or you somehow finish 3rd. With G1 entry fees 5 to 6k

you could then enter your 80 + rated horse in just about every G1 going knowing that there will be a

couple of similar small fields.

No that's a mistake. You would have to supplement your horse to the race now and it would cost tens of thousands. That's the problem with the pattern system it isn't funded properly.

I’m going for the first three days in the Clocktower enclosure (opposite the main stand). I’ve got my concessionary tickets for £25 for the three days. This includes a £10 off deal from Rewards For Racing -the three day ticket should be £35.

I’m not complaining. We can take our food and drinks in as well. £8.33 a day entrance and no stupid beer prices to pay. Great value.

the king george had a great line up but not one of those horses has tuned up for the juddemont. you would have thought a few of them would especially westover as a 10f g1 win would enhance his stud value.
get used to this type of race getting small fields. keeping top class colts in training has been a disaster recently. hurricane lane and adayar have been a disaster at 4 and 5. and the 2022 french derby winner vadeni was just retired after a few terrible runs this season. ace impact (2023 derby winner) has skipped this. the arc will as usual get a massive top class field. only one horse can win it. they all seem to go for that and you get substandard fields for the breeders cup turf and english champion stakes.

There are plenty of horses in Europe that could and would run in this race but the prohibitive cost prevents them doing so. The BHA is messing about with 'premiership' race days instead of concentrating on races that people really want.

Fantastic.  Much better than a card of 20 horse handicaps.

Fantastic.  Much better than a card of 20 horse handicaps. - Which is exactly what the premiership racing is aiming to provide you.
