Just one thing crossed my mind. Police had her under suspicion for a while but why didn't they have some hidden cameras installed to check out any unusual behaviour? Didn't see any mention of it in the Panorama programme.
Heads need to roll when this is all over. How can those pen pushers keep their jobs when ignoring and flicking away medical pros concerns about what was happening - all to protect the image of their hospital, no doubt. How will they sleep at night knowing what hey did?

They have all moved on, elsewhere in the NHS, the private sector and consultants. The one working for Nuffield Health will probably get a nice payoff to disappear and can't see the consultants getting much work now ! The one still working in the NHS will no doubt be taking early retirement, stress or some other ill health excuse.

How long has the 'not having to appear in court for sentencing' option been available to those convicted. Doesn't quite chime with the brutal "send him/her down" tradition.

Always but the Justice Secretary said he plans to force convicts to appear for sentencing. Personally, I really don't think it matters.
But if the Judge pronounced sentence immediately the jury said shedunnit, rather than waiting a few days, the problem would largely disappear. It is not as if the judge has not known from the outset what the possible verdicts are.

scrabbler, by the end there were 11 so they lost 1 during the trial. There can still be a verdict with 10 but any fewer and they would be discharged and it would start again with a fresh 12

I know it won't bring there babies back, but i'd like to see the parents sue the hospital for millions, and the people in charge who turned a blind eye get done for accessory to murder. But they'll say that pathetic cover up sentence, 'Lessons will be learned'. This is absolutely appalling. People knowing what she was like and keeping there mouths shut. We are talking about murdering children, not going home 10 mins before there shift ends.

Surprised your point hasnt been posted already dambuster, but spot on. I would also love to know who this top hospital manager was, who insisted these consultants raising the red flags, write a letter of apology to letby over the accusations against her. This **** should be named and asked now about his position in this. Two of them had to attend mediation also. Typical NHS bosses, most of them not fit for purpose and i worked in that industry and witnessed it first hand.

Shows the ineptitude and when you look at the layer of management in public sector anything these days, there's no wonder it's a sh*t show. I agree with everything Dambuster has written and TINnotaaTON too. Well said.
