Hopefully, England will win without James. At times they have stumbled through, but they have racked up a succession of clean finishes. No goalkeeping fumbles required. Even if I was impartial I wouldn't want Spain to win after they threw the game against Japan.

I would play James at some point depending on how the game is going. She has the best shooting ability of the squad.

I'm gald for the manager of Spain winning the World Cup - the top accolade of football. Those "missing" Spanish footballers would have been disruptive and probably not secure this World Cup for Spain.

Throughout the tournament VAR officials have chickened out at every opportunity, sending the Refs
over to the video monitor every time they couldn't come to a decision. Why are there 7 of them?
Why can't it be the same as in Rugby? There is a review and the VAR official makes a decision.
The awarding of the penalty was dubious. Everything looks completely out of context in slow motion
replays. I suspect that the VAR people didn't order the penalty re taken, despite the goalie being
clearly off the line, because they realised that the ref's decision was a poor one.
