Case in point, there is a 4-year-old in Hong Kong called Greenwich, and a 3-year-old here which is declared for tomorrow.

Once a horse has been inactive for 10 years, it makes sense to allow the name to be used again. Exceptions are made for winners of Group 1 races. Do we want more and more unpronounceable foreign names that I find very hard to remember which was which a year later? With around 14 thousand new yearlings to name every year, it is getting very hard to find new ones which is why we get daft spellings.
