Not all farmers Reg, particularly around here! Wheat harvest only just under way and some second cuts of grass will be waterlogged if this goes on all day. Maize and potatoes will be loving it though. I am trying to resist the temptation to back too many horses until the last minute.

Some of your weather ( predictions ) seem out of touch with the LIVE " Opening Show " . A fair few owners are hoping it rain. ----------------
My 'predictions' - are based on an observation of the Met Office (LIVE) Rainfall Radar facility (past, present, and future - if you know how to use it properly) -
- as opposed to some wallahs on an Early-morning TV show - who are probably more pre-occupied with their appearance and presentation, than Punting.
My 'Tenner' is still on the Met Office.

Stockholm gets a bad rep for gang violence according to press reports, jimnast, but I guess you’d give London a miss for the same reasons!would definitely recommend Seville or Granada for a few days.santorini I would go back but only in may or sept/oct

What is the difference between 'global warming' rain and normal 'rain' ?
Is the Manchester rain 'global warming' rain or normal 'rain' ?
I hear it has always been pretty wet in the Manchester region.

I have also been around a long time and in my present house for 23 years. There is no doubt in my mind that rain is more intense now-much more like the tropics. My first 17 years here my gravel drive stayed intact. In the last 5 years it has been partly washed away 3 times.

Greenwich average 106 days of precipitation, annually 563 mm.
(Annual precipitation averages for the entire UK are 159 days of rain or snow, totalling 1163 millimetres).

Even raining in Thailand - Spurs v Leicester pre season game in Bangkok called off, waterlogged pitch. Long way to go, when they could have just called it off for the same reason here!

Old Trafford is just a very deflated place as the rain continues to fall. The spectators are drifting away, piling onto the tram behind the media centre. There are long faces in the press box.
It wasn’t supposed to end like this.
