July Cup G1 looks an excllent race this tinme around

Although I don't care much for the Newmarket July meeting nowadays ( results far too unpredictable), always had a soft spot for the July Cup. Mainly due to the 80's roll of honour: Moorestyle, Marwell, Sharpo, Habibti, Chief Singer, Never So Bold, Green Desert, Ajdal, Soviet Star - what a stellar list.

This year the race looks well up to scratch. Azure Blue & Shaquille, both look monsters over 6f. I managed to bag Shaquille at 3/1 last night and the 4/1 about Azure Blue atm is tempting as well. Kinross (if it gets soft) & Little Big Bear (if it stay good-firm), certainly make it an interesting race. Little Big Bear fits the profile of quite a few previous July Cup winners, having tried and failed over a mile and then dropped back in distance. The Commonwealth Cup result makes him difficult to be confident about though.
