Race 4 - 2:10pm
THE SKY SPORTS RACING SKY 415 NOVICES' LIMITED HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 5) (DIV II) At the request of the Integrity Department of the British Horseracing Authority, Alan Jones, the trainer and Bradley Harris, the rider of HILLSIN (IRE) were interviewed by the Stewards before this race and asked to provide information regarding their expectations for today, and the riding instructions given. Following the Stewards enquiry, their comments were noted and the matter was referred to the BHA Integrity Department for further consideration. |

Is rather ridiculous though - it wasn't fully fit of course, and some obv knew that (laid it) - but isn't that a frequent occurrence in jumps racing?
|
|
By:
depends if yopu can prove connections or those close to them laid it ?

Wow! I've never known the BHA was so hands-on eg asking for an insight of a race prior to it taking place?. Can anyone remember the same treatment dished out to a big stable here or in Ireland by IHRB?
|
|
By:
Impossible - It seems it is routine for the kind of Hillsin situation. THere have been lots of these pre-race investigation. Whether they have applied the routine to high end trainers I doubt, but then of course they never run non-triers, do they.

'blackbarn', thank-you. One learns something new everyday even on this platform.
Keep it up BHA. Do not make it exclusive to minnow stables here. The big stables here, and esp in Ireland have been at it more regularly than I bet over there. |

Good luck with that request. NFC basically. |

Dylan Kitts hit with exclusion order after failing to cooperate with investigation into controversial Hillsin ride
Dylan Kitts is banned from racecourses, stables and all licensed premises after being served with an exclusion order by the BHA on Wednesday for failing to cooperate with its investigation into the controversial ride he gave Hillsin at Worcester in July of last year. He was handed the punishment in the latest development of the investigation, which began with Kitts being referred to the BHA by the stewards and the horse suspended for 40 days. At a subsequent disciplinary hearing, Kitts had his licence suspended with immediate effect and he was banned from British tracks. In a statement, the BHA said: "The BHA can today confirm that Mr Dylan Kitts has been issued with a disciplinary officer exclusion order as a result of his failure to co-operate with an investigation. "This order, which prohibits Mr Kitts from attending premises licensed by the BHA and/or associating with racing’s participants, has been issued after Mr Kitts failed to provide relevant information requested by the BHA’s integrity team as part of an ongoing investigation. This investigation remains ongoing and the BHA will be making no further comment at this time." The investigation stems from a 2m4f conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle in which Hillsin finished third, beaten just over a length. Racing for the first time for trainer Chris Honour, the horse opened at 7-1 and was at one point the 2-1 favourite before drifting out to 11-1 and looked to be tenderly handled in the home straight, losing ground three out then staying on to take third on the run-in. Kitts and Honour were interviewed following the race and were shown recordings of the race. The jockey maintained his instructions were to "drop out early" and "take his time before mounting a late challenge". He also said Hillsin made a respiratory noise in the back straight and hung badly. Honour "expressed concerns" over the manner in which Hillsin was ridden from the final flight and later he revealed he had asked for Hillsin and Colonel Lesley, both owned by Alan Clegg, to be removed from his yard. The next day, Clegg maintained he had "done nothing wrong". Kitts, a 7lb claimer who was attached to the Warren Greatrex yard, has ridden 11 winners in total but is not currently licensed. |

bit stinky. only a young lad. could have come clean/co-operated and done his bird. scared off? |

Good riddance.
Respiratory noise and hung badly lol…..heard it all….. |

Leif, I strongly suspect that co-operating BY HIMSELF is not a viable option. The failure to co-operate almost certainly includes a refusal to hand over his telephone records. Had he done so (it is a condition of licence that he does) they would have shown who was in touch with him, thereby blowing their cover and exposing them to penalty. So saying " I did it but that's all I'm saying, you're not having my phone" would not have done him much good. I do agree that he may have been better off doing what he could and trying to make a recovery in years to come.

Tidy young jockey ruined by corruption for wahatever ends [financially motivated most likely].
hoss been out since [and made the old respiratrory noise again] wind-op incoming. maybe the jockey would have had a wind-op had he squealed ![]() |

A puzzling decision not to cooperate with the BHA in the investigation. How old is Mr Kitts? I can only assume he's been misguided and probably threatened too.
I think Mr Greatrex is very disappointed for his non-cooperation. |

Never mind Charles Bryne's, watch Jet Of Dreams in last nights 5.55 Warwick !!
halcyon days halcyon days14 May 23 13:15Joined: 29 Jun 05 | Topic/replies: 31,072 | Blogger: halcyon days's blog Backed the horse ( was there ), blatant cheating !! THE HAPPY HEAVENLY BIRTHDAY FRANK JORDAN 'NATIONAL HUNT' MAIDEN HURDLE RACE (CLASS 4) (DIV II) (GBB RACE) An enquiry was held into the running and riding of JET OF DREAMS (IRE), ridden by Dylan Kitts and trained by Warren Greatrex, which was held up at the rear of the field, before being patiently ridden until asked for an effort after the last hurdle, which appeared to be a gentle, hands and heels ride, whereupon the gelding stayed on well to finish second beaten by 6 ½ lengths. Both the rider and the trainer were interviewed and shown recordings of the race and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities, however a second examination approximately 1 hour after the race, revealed the gelding to have slight heat in its left-fore joint. The rider stated that his instructions were to drop in and get the gelding to settle, take his time and creep into the race to try to finish in best possible position, having previously made a respiratory noise. Kitts explained that having jumped slowly away in the hope to get JET OF DREAMS (IRE) to settle and allow the gelding a better view of the hurdles, he became outpaced in the early stages. He added that he felt it prudent to keep a hold of JET OF DREAMS (IRE)’s head after it had started to make a respiratory noise in the back straight, a matter in which he reported at Scales, in order to get the gelding to finish its race. Kitts further stated that JET OF DREAMS (IRE) had started to hang and jump left-handed from the bend turning into the home straight and felt that when he was able to get the gelding to race without hanging as badly, the winner had gotten away from him and that he could not have made up the ground between them. Therefore, Kitts believed that JET OF DREAMS (IRE) had obtained its best possible placing. The trainer confirmed the instructions given to Kitts and added that he was satisfied with the ride in the circumstances as he felt that the gelding had been hanging badly left-handed. Kitts was suspended for 14 days for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures throughout the race to ensure that JET OF DREAMS (IRE) was given full opportunity to obtain the best possible placing, in that he had failed to ride his mount in such a way that he could be seen to ask for a timely, real or substantial level of effort. They're taking us for fools ! I knew my eyes didn't deceive me ! The lad's obviously been ''got at!'' |

So Mr Kitts has been "managed" by those experienced in the game and kept schtum as a result. Otherwise opening a can of worms could be challenging for many connected.

Sounds like a Dick Francis novel. Makes it hard to believe all the tv pundits who assure us that racing is straight and readily find an excuse for the bad run of a horse they were touting as unbeatable a few seconds before the start.

definitely mobile phone data. Permission given by him to phone company to pass on call data to BHA. That should snooker the others...........so lo ng as they can work out who the calls to DK are from/to. This may prove tricky if they cannot ID telephone numbers of the organisers.
|
|
By:
But surely people use back up phones, burners etc when discussing stuff like this, and keep the boring stuff on the main phone that the BHA get?

unless someone goes to prison it'll change nothing.
someone gets warned off and has to do his dodgy stuff through a third party. probably already is. |
|
By:
you'd be surprised Andriy. If you are involved in importing £5m of H, then of course you will use burners or encryption. But these guys are just (in their minds) having a chat with their jockey. Perfectly innocently. That's what they will say. Be tough to disprove but several calls + suspicious betting = finding of guilty. Not that easy though.
