At least sometimes he will ask the questions that others will not, maybe that's why they don't like him. The real issue is familiarity breeds contempt. So the more we see the more we pick holes.
I'm with ASF on this one. His grotesque approach is marmite but he often digs out some otherwise avoided answers.

Disagree entirely. Most jockeys like him, Levey, Murphy, Marquand, Doyle x 2 , Shoemark etc etc he is being tongue in cheek most the time, but his knowledge on people and horses is exceptional people don't get him. Given the daily grind, I think most Trainers and jockeys prefer to be interviewed by him then most of the other interviewers with their pointless, "will he stay further" interviews .
Matt has mellowed with time and I find him quite acceptable. Certainly knows his stuff.
He is awful to listen too with his constant shouting and its all just an act with the same old nonsense spouted day after day and no interest at all in anything below Class 3 racing. Certainly in the bookmakers pockets and never one to criticise a British jockey unlike others from abroad where he has does not have to worry about his next interview.

Chapman brightens the place up,you old fuddy duddy's should lighten up.
For me, he is always trying to be the centre of attraction. He's better than some because he has opinions but on balance, I'd rather not listen to him.
When people say he 'knows his stuff' what does that mean? Obviously, he does if you compare him to the likes of Harvey.
Is it a weird, misplaced recollection, or did the Betfair Forum virtually get him re-instated about 10 years ago?

Why the question mark as I don't recall the forum mounting any campaign for some reinstatement.

I don't mind him, a bit indifferent really I suppose but...this " booom" thing he insists on doing is extremely peurile.
