Do favs win more often when the field is useless?

Well i never .Got this game by the bollax has Gaze.

Sometimes a fav is at evens and the second fav is at 2/1, other times the second fav is at 8/1. I'd rather lay the fav in the first case because the second fav is good enough to beat him. Whenever I see these obvious favs with no real opposition according to odds, they never lose.

Keep going Glaze that golden goose is just around the corner.

It all depends on how much better the fav ( if it's a younger horse taking on more exposed types )  is than it's rating whether it is suited to the distance and the surface turf or AW.  All this requires talent experience and hard work to study each individual race and horses. Something you strongly appear incapable of doing.

My constant struggle to guess Gaze's motivation is definitely trending more towards "longest-running windup on the Forum" with that one.

Ignoring overrounds if  a favourite is evens, the oddscompiler's view  it is equally likely that it will win or that something else will. If it is more likely to win because the next shortest price is 10/1, then it won't be even money anymore.

Surely it's easily searchable how favs get
on in differing standards of racing.

The idea that all horses with double digit odds are useless is laughable. Do you mean opening show, 5 minutes before the off or SP? Almost all horses with 6 runs and still rated below 50 are useless but if the race is 0-50, one of them will be favourite and one will win.

Surely  where the second fav is at 3.5, third at 5.0 and fourth at 6.0 you would lay em all to a liability of everything you had in your account and just take the guaranteed 10% return whatever the outcome.

Gaze, logged on to your latest forum post/venture at 13.59, took me 5 minutes to create an easy system for you,and 5 more to post it, backfitted of course -

National Hunt only,
6 year old clear favs in Class 1 to 4 races
Its last race was in a Class 2 to 5 race
Has had between 5 and 9 runs this season
Give them a miss if they fell or were pulled up lto.

Easy peasy for you to work out, justs 5 minutes every day, just a couple of bets a week and a 39% strike rate.

Let me know how much you lose.
