Always has been thus.

When they only had 4 meetings a year -

The Horses for Courses approach could work out -But now that they race every other Saturday, from the May meeting onwards - Every Handicap race has multiple Course Winners down to run.

I simply swerve the place - along with Epsom - Brighton - and most of Goodwood...

Saves immensely on the precious Brain Cells.

We must be linked telepathically onlooker because I have done the same and for many years.  I add Ayr in too.  Totally different track but I've never been able to find winners there and the number of horses who win who shouldn;t is mind-numbing.

There is NO Substance, at all, to your retort - whatsoever - ItsMeswaddle

No idea where you are coming from with that, apparent, cheap jibe - or what you are trying to achieve by it ...

Because - In this instance - You are undoubtedly on the Losing side.

No further discussion needed.

Don't see why everyone knocks Chester as a betting track.......far better to bet at than Haydock for instance.....with its rediculous and totally unpredictable draw bias....no Chester fine by me.....

I think Chester is probably a marmite course. I don't like it because I've never done well there and yesterday with so much racing, I ignored it almost completely. Many years ago on the old Compuserve forum (the forum was actually very good) there was a guy who was a Chester expert who used to have a lot of happy followers. So horses for course applies on more than one front when it comes to Chester.

Think it was easily ignored yesterday Brian as it was the only meeting on Sky whereas there was bumper viewing on RUK , was a no brainer for me not to channel hop and watch RUK all afternoon.

Problem lazy punters having playing the course is becoming fixated by the draw , not realizing the draw is factored into the exchange price and that apparent edge is known by every man and his dog , so simply used as an edge the draw is irrelevant.

Good luck today all   Happy

Its like a greyhound race where you have to see who is going to lead. However at least in greyhounds you have alot of consistent data to make an opinion on that. With horse and also jockeys involved you have no idea who is going to lead. And you even have riders who break well then reign their mounts back and lose all advantage. Which to me is unfathomable. However jockeys to me are unfathomable.

Like everyone says price is linked to draw but its probably no value. To me its just unfair and the randomess of it all means its unlikely to make any money, other than probably lay front runners who go too fast as they get overbet. But that takes judgement and sectional timing/ground/competition etc...

Chester is a mad course but I find it very profitable!  Obvious draw bias, and follow the likes of Franny Norton who ride it well.

But I agree with onlooker about the likes of Epsom and Brighton and Goodwood.  Ridiculous racetracks.  Call me "Mr Picky" but flat tracks should be that.  FLAT.  Even "Casgwent" with its idiotic undulations annoys me.
