18.00 Ordinary hurdle race €18k
I dug out EAU DE LOGRES (NO. 5) as I did not have any flags in the race. Oddly he is a 9yo and had only run 3 times, all hurdles.
March22, March23 and May23. Form - 4th, PU, and Fell and somehow the French handicapper had given a rating of 52 (115 UK).
The first 2 runs were at Auteuil so connections must have though something of him and then he went to a provincial track I have never watched - Jallais.
But back to Auteuil today in an ordinary race on a big day.
Intrigued I decided to watch his run when he fall at Jallais to see how far he got and if he could jump or run.
He is huge and was settled in 2nd last. A bit clumsy but kept in touch at the back. Then he decided to try to negotiate a hurdle without lifting a leg. CRASH.
50/1 rag of 15 today with the bricks and mortar. 61p traded at 32 on here when I fist looked.
Having £5 win and £5 place.
Tried for 500
but there were bits and pieces traded at 80. Sportsbook went 50 into 25 then 28.
Tried for 100 and eventually got SP of 89. Amazingly 30 for the place.
Raced prominently enough from the off and going down the back, the drone shots showed his giant raking strides as he joined the front rank (going best for me) towards 3 out.
Looked really, really unlucky to find some loose ground on landing at the 3rd last and his front legs slipped sideways from under him CRASH. Great to see he got up and galloped away and his pilot safe too.
Have hit the post with a 40 (Flying Colours) and a 60 (Cookilayone) at the meeting and even dug out Gala Marceau. So not complaining.
Just think Eau de Logres would have been inspired and justifys watching the France Galop coverage with no prejuduces from Spotlight, RPR ratings and the usual UK hype and ar5elicking on the telly.
Interesting if he gets another run out soon.

Good post, and unlucky! Shame you didn't get to find out what he could have done. I thought he ran just a bit keen, and the winner was still going really well at the time, and continued to do so apart from making a mess of the last 2 jumps.
Catherine considered Eau de Logres 'good-looking, but looked as if he should be running in hunter chases'. He was bandaged at the back, which could just be precautionary with his long stride.
