i'm sure Betfair will look at the accounts who backed the original winner to keep the race when it was trading around the 3 mark then went in to 1.5ish...

a remarkable guess from someone that.

Racing is bent from every angle , that`s why it is the way it is !

Different matter if it had happened at the last - not second last or otherwise you could chuck at the third last, the fourth last or.....

So basically you can do what you want if its far enough out, shocking decision imo.
By:

Aye great guess Hib from the stewards m8 ,blatant thievery imo.

When: 08 May 23 15:42
Probably in line with most stewarding decisions when happened that far out - they consder the placed or other horses had time to prove themselves given that, as it wasn't deliberate or foul play.
By:
Bluebird2sing
When: 08 May 23 15:43
You're correct ribero, the rules don't take into account interference that far out. If they did, practically every NH race would result in dqd's.

Yep rancid...

Might drum of more liquidity if BF started a clock on re-opening of say 5 min window, susp regardless at end, or 7 mins or whatever and its just tough luck if called earlier.

rico best ever

also - rico i'm not betting on it cos i don't trust my judgement anymore after getting wiped out on numerous occasions

Shocking decision by idiotic stewards. The rules now state that unless its a photo finish you can completely noble the other horse. This is disgusting! One of the worst decisions I've ever seen from these morons!

Thought it wasn't favourite to lose it, IF they applied the rules about being certain to alter from that far out...
By:

When: 08 May 23 15:45
even 5-10 years ago when nearly every result stood...the 2nd would have been odds on to get that
a total farce probably bent
By:

When: 08 May 23 15:46
as hibby says...1/3 to 2/1 any price taken 20 mins after enquiry announced...fair play
By:
Bluebird2sing
When: 08 May 23 15:47
Stewards hands tied on this one. Jockey clearly not at fault and too far out to take into account. Nothing they could do - unless they give the horse a suspension for reckless riding!
By:

When: 08 May 23 15:48
I was slightly favouring result would be amended but thankfully I didn't play, you just cannot predict these inquiries with any great confidence.

I didn't take much notice of betting ,first past post went from 3 to 1.5 just before announcement?

it's the same in every aspect of horse racing imv 11kv...

turn a blind eye and pretend everyone is a wonderful human being...

it's treating the betting public with complete and utter contempt...

as per usual.

We need to have a stewards enquiry on the stewards. We need racing people in there making the decisions not doddery old gin soaked colonels and corrupt morons.
By:
Bluebird2sing
When: 08 May 23 15:53
Some people had seen that the present rules did't allow for this scenario.
By:
hulk23
When: 08 May 23 15:55

agreed, but fptp then went back to the front before the runner-up re-rallied to be denied by a fast diminishing head.

had to use energy to recover from being knocked into the car park.  that cost the horse victory.
By:
stu
When: 08 May 23 15:56
On the decision it's not at all dodgy, as they applied the rules.

On the hoovering of money, that's a different question of course...

if 2 or 3 out is too far back to take action a jockey can use that to his advantage.  wipe the field out 2 out, into stewards.  yeah, was bad but it was 2 out so i'm off to weigh in,  see ya.

Rico-Dangleflaps
