...just based on weather, not punting. The ground from mid-meeting Saturday was bad and it is a disgrace the track was watered on Thursday. A marginal difference perhaps but the principle of avoiding the risk of the fast side of good to firm is wholly wrong, especially after the wettest March in 40 years and the forecast. Anyway, results must be treated cautiously from mid afternoon Saturday. A few thoughts. Infinite Cosmos is quite good but an absurd price for the Oaks. The Pretty Polly was a superb trial and I think the front 3 are quite good. Couldn't have the winner at the present price for the Oaks but she is potent over that trip, The 2nd and 3rd may well be Park Hill horses and are bred to stay for ever. Their 3rd race will tell us a lot but I would not  give up on them. If either run at Epsom, it would not surprise me if they reversed form. I had a small punt on Trust the Stars @ 33/1 before and I may go in again depending on what Beckett says. Related to stayers. June may be too soon.....then again she may be as slow as wood! The Weld horse will never be beaten by any of those again, but that is hardly news is it. You can't see why she wouldn't go on good ground and if the (over) cautious DM gives the go ahead, she will win the Coronation  by a minute. I had a big bet on Adayar, in my view the best evens shot I have seen for many years. Backed it at 8/1 and 7/1 for PoW and even now, at 5/1 , it is great value. Despite his form over the last 3 or 4 runs this horse battered an in form Mishriff, Love and Broome on Good to Firm in the KG and will be much, much better on Ascot ground (absent Prosseresque watering!). Godolphin are so good at 10/12f handicaps and King of Conquest will improve for another 1f at least. He may be short-ish at RA for the 10f handicap but I'll be punting it. Saga was dreadfully unlucky (thank God!) and they may be tempted by the same race but I hope they go for the Hunt Cup and ride it a bit more prominently. Anyway, hope you all had a good few days. You'd have been dryer than I was on Saturday but today was glorious. Good luck.

Good afternoon Donegal

Enjoyable read like you I very much doubt any  of those will ever beat tahiyra again ,I was very impressed with the pretty polly winner I like the race as an oaks pointer and at this stage she would be my fancy however I get the feeling she will go for the French oaks instead which would be a shame.I thought the 2000 guineas was just an all round mess, missed going this year as I enjoy the racing on the rowley mile.

Regarding saga I was hoping he would get up .

afternoon jimnast. You may have missed the racing but you wouldn't have missed the day on Saturday. Very miserable and I cannot recall a G1 day at a flat meeting being so infernally difficult. The Palace House was harder than the Wokingham. Segal has tipped up the Polly winner for the Oaks which is quite brave I think. And Coolmore retain such a grip on the public/bookies that A O'B simply saying Rodin is ok is enough to keep him as favourite for The Derby. Quite extraordinary. In August last year I started an (optimistic )thread on the Ante Post section suggesting Flying Honours and simply by staying in his stable he is now 3rd fav. It will pay for my summer if it wins! Quiet week here to recover anhd prepare for York next week. All the best

Via Sistina isn't currently entered for the Prix De Diane and it would cost 66,000 euros to supplement her the week before the race.

TA, but she is 5? J and I are on about Running Lion who won the Pretty Polly, not the Dahlia winner.

Yes, just realised I'd looked at the wrong result! Stupid of me, but I'll blame old age. Running Lion is entered for the Diane.

Good afternoon Donegal

I noticed today pricewise has put up running lion for the oaks hopefully she will run at Epsom, regarding Saturdays card I did say to someone on the forum there won’t be a harder flat card this season, also anorak had brought up the amount of handicaps on the card, and that wasn’t including the palace house that looked like a handicap.
