I think she packed in the racecourse presenter gig last season, and now we know why, evidently got the RTV one.
I don't usually watch the ITV coverage so can't comment on that, but was watching the other day at Thirsk when she was on and can't say I was impressed. There was a 5f sprint and she spent most of the replay telling us why a horse might have been kept away from the others. Mmmm interesting ![]() |

Her hubby is the RTV Ambassador no less.

All profits go back into racing. Would love to know what there profits were.

Racing TV Ambassador Paul Mulrennan tells us about his hopes for Euchen Glen in the feature race at Haydock Park on Saturday plus gives the inside track on his other weekend rides

if you are to puke it is wise to be frank about it
dunno why you attach 'happy' to your moniker as you dont seem to be. as the great plum wrote; 'on the whole it is not difficult to tell the difference between a scotsman with a grievance and a ray of sunhine' i dont mind adele, aside from her murdering the language. theres a lot worse than her. like those 2 donkeys in the studio |
By:
Quite like her myself, she is best when in the pre parade ring imo.
By:
Quite like her myself too, shes speaks well is intelligent, not annoying at all !

Hello Paul .
By:
as ever a fair few on here miss the point completely...
pundits shouldn't have any sort of bias if they are to do what they are paid to do... give an un-biased view pre and post race... how can they be unbiased when they are a) married to one of the jockeys b) the son/daughter of a current trainer c) an ex-jockey who will have connections still training / riding all over the place d) a jockeys agent etc etc etc... it's a case of RTV bringing in folk they 100% know will go down the see no evil hear no evil route... and as i have said many times on here i'd love to know how RTV can justify sponsoring Paul Mulrennan... journeyman jockey going nowhere yet RTV thinks he is the man they want to sponsor year in year out... very strange that one imv. |
By:
does she ever have a day off
By:
Whoever is employed as a pundit, they have to be careful what they say when analysing a ride, or else they could end up in another ATR vs Dean McKeown type scenario.
Which wouldn't be good for the channel's business model imo. |
By:
unhappyhippy was a lot more fun when he wasnt here
didnt know she was also on itv |
By:
what would Adele have said about a couple of 'hubby's' rides on Kraken Power i wonder ?
unlucky - watch out for it next time... ran out of room... got chopped up a a critical time of the race... didn't get home... looked like winning and flattened out... it's utterly hideous stuff from RTV imv... it's blatant the road they have gone down with their punditry / presenting appointments... and it ain't a good one. |
By:
more about pandering to diversity quotas than recruiting insiders to cover up the dubious rides.
By:
no Cider...
all about giving folk jobs who they 100% know will say nowt to rock the boat for trainers and jockeys. |
By:
No, it's diversity quotas and former female jockeys are an easy fit. There are still plenty of blokes on the channel that aren't former jockeys. Not that they are especially renowned for calling out pulled horses.
By:
If I were boss of one of the racing channels, I'd try to do what GB News attempted with Mark Steyn, and ask the pundits to sign a contract making them liable for anything they say, rather than the company.
And then I'd say to them, feel free to call out dodgy rides, but if you're sued for it, then you're on your own. And saying a ride is 'dodgy' is one thing, trying to prove it in a court of law is another! So I don't think we should expect pundits to try and 'police' the sport. |
By:
The best 'pundit' happens to be a former jockey anyway. And it's not Walsh...
By:
Steyn's issue was that he would have to rely on his employer to defend him against nefarious ofcom allegations. Who could operate on those terms, knowing his employer could throw him under the bus at any point the going got tough.
By:
anyone who thinks Adele Mullrennan being on RTV as a pundit is about 'diversity' needs a checkup from the neck up...
get real man. |
By:
Not her personally. She helps to maintain the balance that the ptb want though. Have you been hibernating for the last decade? This has impacted practically all broadcasting, not just RTV...
By:
She helps to maintain the balance that the ptb want though.
-------------------------------------------------------------- no... there ain't no balance... it's all see no evil hear no evil... which is why i get very pi$$ed off with yet another in house appointment from RTV... but like i say they ain't getting my subscription money no more... i'm sure they are very upset at that. |
By:
If you think that gender balance has not impacted pundit selection over the last few years, you need your bumps felt. They don't need former jockeys or insiders to maintain the illusion of perfect integrity. There are dozens of pundits who can do that.
Does it matter anyway? The 14 runner novice with three runners under 20-1 isn't going to see them all suddenly trying their best, whether the pundit tells us what we already know, or not. It will always be tryers to the front. |
By:
i'm not interested in gender balance / diversity in punditry world...
i'm interested in yet another in house appointment (Adele Mulrennan) from RTV... welcome to the hear no evil see no evil club Adele. |
By:
Don't forget the ambassadors mate Mr Dwyer also working for RTV.
By:
good point sparrow...
the good old In House Hear No Evil See No Evil Club... |
By:
livewire is there on merit. hes actually rather good. and once tipped 5/7 winners at dundalk
By:
again...
completely missing the point. |
By:
I'm trying to explain to you why it's happening. It makes perfect sense, they are already used to public speaking, cameras, should know the runners, tactics etc, information from stables they are associated with and be able to waffle for a few minutes before the race. And used to the travelling, quite possibly with people they associate with going to the same meetings. Adele is obviously ready made, coming from a terrestrial broadcaster.
I'm not stating whether it's right or wrong, but practically any female jockey giving up who has a profile will be able to get a punditry gig. The producers of these shows have quotas to fill. Just like their male contemporaries, some of them add value and some of them are noise. I don't care what gender they are, I just don't think it should be a factor. And it is. |
By:
Completly agree with OP (Farty) game is Finnish when stuff like this is happening
By:
Cider...
she is there coz she is in house and she 100% will NOT spout on about anything iffy... that's the end of the story. |
By:
Who exactly are the plethora of pundits spouting 'iffy' things up to now ?
By:
Absolutely full of drivel
By:
None of them.
That is why interest in the game is surely at an all time low. You have washed up old Fools talking nonsense and it has limited appeal |
By:
last one i remember was Peter Harris...
got two shifts... RUK didn't like his 'style'... and he was never to be seen again... and since then they have continually given jobs to folk who they fully know will play the game. Adele Mulrennan is just another one in a very long list and it has NOTHING to do with diversity ffs. |
By:
Your argument is going down in flames. Adele has been brought in to cover up non tryers, yet the last pundit to call them out on RTV iyo was Peter Harris

Lydia tried it once and she was nearly finnish.

night night Cider... pointless carrying on with someone who can't see green cheese. |
