Everybody who attended the national demanded that changes must be made, aintree can’t allow this to continue,it makes the sport look bad.
Aintree defend their acholol pricing structure of 7.20 a pint, even though the general public are disgusted by what they saw.

In other news,57 people complained about horse welfare,so  aintree is considering stopping the race.

Which part of logic don’t the animal rights people not understand, the horses wouldn’t be born if they didn’t race, same goes for food production,

They are the ones who want to stop animals having a life.

Racing just needs to stand up and say

Fook right off .

Pointless pandering to them as though you’re admitting some guilt or blame.no matter how far racing bows down to them,it won’t be enough,so draw a line that they can defend and fook them off.

There’ll always be someone unhappy,so it’s a thankless task.

Must be the most expensive day out Racing in the whole world. And if people continue to pay these exorbitant prices then nothing will change.

Unfortunately the event junkies, the young gang who have no interest in the actual racing and who are only there so they can tell everyone on social media that they're there, these are the ones ruining it fir everyone else as they will pay whatever they're told to pay.

Well? for what's worth:

I stopped betting on the nags years ago.
Yes, occasionally something sets me to thinking and I'll take a look and linger for a while, back in the day, what I knew, know NOW even, on the subject you could write on the back of a rizla. And we're not talking reefas here.
When I WAS betting on the nags,,,,,,, mmmm, I don't know, just didn't seem right some how. Swore that if there was ever a world-wide ban on horse-racing I wouldn't be seen marching on Portman Square with the placard waving hoards.
Aint gonna happen anyway. The game is awash with cash, can't argue with money.

Now where was I? Oh yeah, fwiw:

I don't think so many horses are bred specifically for the jumping game nowadays, and to expect speed-bred horses run/thrive in nat.hunt.
Okay, maybe some can live with hurdling for a while, sensibly handled of course, but how many of you have look at chase-entries, never mind the GN, and thought what the hell that thing doing here ? In training even?

I shall no more.

Lol Onlooker by the way.
I get my fix from my local corner shop 2.5 ltrs for £4.90.
It works for me.

Enjoy your day,

the ster.

I think ericster makes a fair point. Too many jumps horses are essentially flat-bred. Try finding a jumper without Northern Dancer in its pedigree. The GN fences are not hurdles but they can be brushed through in a way they certainly couldn't last century. These two facts together mean the horses go faster and can get round without jumping particularly well.
There is no way you can satisfy " Animal Rebellion ". If all horse races were on the flat over 5f they would still be glueing their bits to the rails.

dunno what you consume that costs so little. when you factor in excise duty its impossible for it to be anything other than absolute sh1te. i pay that for a bottle

racing is wasting its time worrying about 'public perception', one its buzz-phrases that gets trotted out by the media ****s. appeasement never works. heard that before?

what it should do is sort itself out for long-term benefit. aside from the money issue which is too boring, there should be an end to over-breeding from severely-limited bloodlines. galileo is the sun round which breeding orbits and its unhealthy. no horse should be mated that are closely related. its debilitating and borderline immoral. as everybody on here knows, the habsburgs were brought low because of it

some people simply couldnt givversh1t because money is no object and breeders cant turn their nose up at the huge sums on offer. the germans have the right idea. their breeding industry is tiny but they have a reputation for soundness that is the result and no horse that has ever raced on drugs is even allowed into the gaff. which might explain why so few go there, but their uncompromising attitude is laudable, even though it has cost them

there should be an immediate end to wind-ops. they are a wind-up. has pumpkin ever had a horse that can breathe? its extremely damaging to the breed. this is so self-evident, i cannot believe nobody makes a fuss. breeding from infirm horses only goes one-way-weakening the animal, to the detriment of the sport as there will be more horror-shows of horses breaking down, like the ones witnessed at santa anita in the u.s.  horrible stuff

no horse in the u.s. races without lasix. how can that be defensible? every horse is going to burst unless on drugs is the tacit admission. in that case stop the show. they should get rid of dirt also, and its demise is inevitable so they should try again before they are forced to
