Newcastle is the best all round AW card that I can remember.

It will be interesting to see the pace of the races today. So many times they crawl for the first half of the race, surely it will be different today.

Newcastle….the dreaded……the stigma……

the problem with newcastle is that it is very difficult to win from the front, so the pace horses go slowly.

horrid track, most races offering a nice pay day for above average handicappers.

Looks a good card, over £500k on offer to the winners, not to be sniffed at.

Some nice 3yo prospects running. I'm sure there will be a few winners this season from them. Looks a decent card to me.

Given he inflated Prize-Money at all 3 Tracks today ...

  - A distinctly Underwhelming day. Sad

What more did you expect from the meetings, onlooker?

I thought it was a decent day for the first week of April. The 3yo sprint winner looked useful and Berkshire Shadow should pick up another decent handicap at least. There seems to be a lot of Man U fans on this forum.

Very happy with my day. Backed the 5 Balding/Murphy runners at Newcastle and 3 won. The non runner in the 1.50 still being unresolved takes away some of the enjoyment. Luckily I backed them all either yesterday or this morning so had 9.5 Notre Belle Bete and 14 Desert Cop until the NR. Berks Shadow only 2.44 but you can't get it right every time. Ironically the two losers both shortened up as well so I was not he only one who backed them. After Saint George yesterday, the master trainer has had 4 wins from 8 runners in 2 days.

That was a big price notre belle sageform well done ,no idea why anyone would have wanted to lay that price.

It was longer the night before and I think was outsider of the 6. I almost discarded it until I noticed it had dropped below 10. Desert Cop went out to 18 at one point.
