Never back Eaves is my punting mantra, because I think him incompetent, not bendy. He invariably blows the start, for one thing.

And looking up the 7.45 finds the comment: Dwelt start, soon midfield, repeatedly short of room from over 2f out, lost position over 1f out, not recover (jockey said gelding was continually denied a clear run from approximately 3f out) (tchd 4/1 and tchd 5/1)

Dwelt start, you see; I was right. The stuff about not getting a clear run is probably what raised OP's ire, but it may well have been true.

The point is, if you don't like a particular jockey, trainer or even owner, then don't back them. It's good for the old blood pressure.

It didn't dwell, a bit ungainly out of the gate but he had a good position after half a furlong. It's often slowly away and has won with Eaves on after doing so. Got no run and wisely saved it for another day imo.
