Well, not quite yet.

The Government has delayed plans to raise the state pension age to 68 after a fall in life expectancy and concerns that the move could spark a backlash from working age-voters.

Life expectancy is now two years shorter than it was when the Government last reviewed the state pension age. It is currently at 66 and the initial plan was to increase the age to 68 after 2044.

More good news following the Tories back tracking on charging the over sixties for prescriptions..
