The great thing about ITV racing is not having to endure him on Sky racing.

s aw some of the interview he had with Michael O'Leary. He asks a question, O'Leary starts to answer but Chapman had to keep butting in.

Hope he and Alice never hit it off.

The love child would be horrendous.

Exactly wouldn’t give him time to respond….live on his nerves I think….certainly wouldn’t do you any harm or a bad turn….just a bit overboard….imo….

Even when he's trying to act out a self deprecating scenario you know it's just an act, just another reason in his mind for people to talk about him. Every interview he does he has to find some way of getting people talking about him and not the interviewee.

Turning the sport of horse racing into show business

Football the same .

Without the sport theres no show business.

The learning curve !

its all about opinions. I much prefer Matt to the pompous silver spooned asses they usually have in such positions. May just be you want someone with no personality presenting, fair enough, its all about opinions and choices.

Its not all about opinions ....thats the problem

The sport is horse racing

Everyones got an opinion as well as an r s hole !

Its about horses racing each other

Turn the sound down and watch the magic reappear

That's fair enough, but his 'personality ' is purely a self serving one and nothing else.

Well if you like someone shouting and hollering as part of his act then Chapman is tailor made.

Horse racing only exists because of opinion.

Take away betting, you have no sport, certainly not a commercially viable product.

Chapman is part of the package.

No problem with anyone disliking him, however I personally think he is decent.

Defenders of Chumpman seem to be missing the point in the main. Apart from the fact that the intervier (which is what he is as well as "presenter") is there to elicit answers from the interviewee. There are 2 problems with MC:
1. He is so utterly annoying and at times cringeworthy to many (that's a fact, not opinion) that they have to mute the sound when he speaks and might miss a relevant response (albeit that most of his victims just can't wait to get away and clearly listen to him out of politeness).
2. He just doesn't get the best out of his interviewees by asking them questions that they are never going to answer or are just silly. Remember "Does he nedd a pair of blinkers, Sir Michael?"

If they keep him ITV should remove him from the interviewer role (especially with the silly mike on a stick) and stick him to giving the latest news to which he can add his opinion if they allow it.

A prize "Deano".  Boofheaded, loud, overweight, short back n' sides haircut.  A bit older than the archetype Deano but maybe a progenitor of the Deano.

Didn't he go to a public school?
