That short interview with Mullins hints he doesn't know which of the front two will win

Oh dear, Townend.

Hit the front too soon? The 2nd was trading at 1.4 in-running.

Anyone who thinks the result would've been different no matter how the second was ridden is mad

Il ETait Temps didn't jump 1 hurdle well, can imagine would have been bang in there if it could hurdle.

First 8 horses home all Irish , that's insane for a race like this.

Fav ran better than i thought, lacks the gears on decent surface fancied it out the money.

You would have been perfectly happy with Facile Vega until he turned into straight, and from there he couldn't pull clear. Other than the last he has jumped well, but that made no difference. Typical Cheltenham, you can run very well, and not win. Winner is probably a very good horse.

winner easily the best - no excuses

The winner won on merit; the 2nd ran well just 2nd best on the day. Next meet would not be surprised if a reversal of position if 2nd delivers his challenge at/after the last.
Good job every horse returned safe and sound. |
