That was a grand piece on the dual Champion Hurdler and Ken White.....I wish they would show more of this type of programming...........

Agreed, not to put down todays commentators, however the commentary on the race added to the piece, Sir Peter. Would love to see a few of the old jockeys sitting round a tabel talking about old
times at Cheltenham and the big races.

Was in Night Nurse that lowered the colours of COE for the first time?

Could be wrong ,but from memory i think it was Lanzarote that lowered his colours in 74 for the 1st time. Night Nurse certainly did subsequently.

Only trouble with these things is that it makes you feel very old!
Seeing Ken White reminded me that i backed a winner of his as a trainer named Rise Over at 33/1 only had a couple of quid EW on it because it came out of my namesake Stewarts Rise sired by another old Bryan McMahon 1 miler Smackover!Grin

Bill Smith would have had a few spins on the great horse as well.

There was a piece on a few weeks ago, with Bill Smith talking about Comedy of Errors. Richard Pitman went on some way out on Lanzarote to take the title off Comedy, and said he pinched the race. Bill Smith said Comedy had another excuse and that "Richard couldn't pinch a fat lady's bum".
