As a small bettor I like to have an interest in as many races as possible.

These are the three I am really struggling with:-

Champion Chase
Stayers
Mares' Chase

In the Champion Chase you have the two relatively short ones, but they are far from bomb proof. None of the others are what you could call a solid each-way bet. If anything the softer surface muddies the waters even more. Not sure that it is obviously in favour of any of them. If forced I would go Edwardstone, but he is short enough, and I don't like hold up horses.

I had backed Marie's Rock in the Stayers, but more in hope than expectation. I couldn't be sure that she would stay, and the race was unlikely to be run to suit. I probably like Blazing Khal most, but is there really any value in 3/1 about a horse who had the opposite to a trouble free preparation?

The Mares' Chase looks a toss up with Impervious looking the more solid of the two favourites. I had tried to oppose them with Galia Des Liteaux, but for me Skelton has made a mistake in favouring the longer trip.

Anyone got any strong views on these races?

I couldn’t play on the gold cup due to the forgotten horse nobody has forgotten

I'm finding the novice chases very hard this year, especially the RSA and NH Chase. I don't really like any of them.

Unless you like betting shorties with a large amount there were only two bets on the Champion Hurdle.

What looks a free tenner you can take off Hills, and the 10/1 each-way I Like To Move It without Constitution Hill. It's not beyond him, but Twiston-Davies is going to have to mess up big time to hand that back to the bookmakers.

Heavy ground means Energumene just has to show up imo. Grenateen at 25/1 3 places is the other good bet.

Novice chases are hard with short price favs to take on but hard to find a solid e/w alternative.
