Timing.

I see the shipping containers you could stay in for £950 for the week have not sold well. Nice to see there are some limits on what people will pay.

The organisers are confident of a relaunch for the 2024 festival. Units available next year will be either twin or double en-suite rooms with a shower and heating, costing £350 per night for a minimum of two nights.

Nobody has spare money any more. I'm confident nobody will pay £350 per night to sleep in a container.(If they do, they have money than sense)  I hope they lose their shirts. This country is fed up with getting ripped off. Abosulte p*ss take!

If you are thinking about it, stay Strong a get a tent.

I woulde rather sleep in a recent-build en-suite in an ISO than some of the flophouse hotels in Cheltenham that will doubtless be charging much the same next week.

Friends of mine spent months living in ISO "corimecs" in former Yugoslavia in the 90s - by all accounts OK.

Cheltenham sold out years ago.

If they got the pricing right they may have sold more than the 16 of the 300. But £1,000 for the week to stay in a shipping container Silly. Somebody must have thought they had a good money-spinner when they came up with that idea. Or as Arthur Daley would say "Nice little earner"

The BHA are in the 1950's where Marketing is concerned. The only tickets  sold out are "Club" for Gold Cup Day . Hotels have loads of space as they are charging ridiculous prices (£400-£500 a night), I stopped staying in Cheltenham 5 years ago when they started taking the p*** in Stratford /Leamington Spa, book 6 months before in 4 star hotels for £120 , 50 min drive in.
One day the BHA will realise going to 4 days has totally killed competitive racing, aligned to the fact that Mullins/Elliot have a ridiculous number of horses. Not there fault, we need to cut racing to 2 meetings a day, close 20 /30 British racecourses increase prize money for the reduced race meetings. Maybe then Cheltenham will sell out and we will see the best against the best.
Last year we had a two horse race ...and absolutely nothing has been done to stop this happening again.
It's criminal what is happening to this beautiful sport, the BHA whip rule fiasco. When will they get proper racing people at the top of the BHA . ie Ruby Walsh, John Gosden etc.
