I should know the answer but don't, haven't bet on these Ante post markets for years, bet 356 are nrnb all cheltenham races now, actually did a few EW multiples last night, so interested to know the answer.

I am always ready to hear some firm has found a new way to be devious, but my understanding is that the rules of the major firms are that bets in *all* Antepost markets are struck at the place terms in force when the bet is struck, and going NRNB on those markets is only a punter-friendly concession by the bookies and not a change to that rule?

Yeah, it's an antepost bet at the end of the day with place terms ATM of 3 places.

if only 4 horses were to run you'd imagine they'd have something hidden away in the rules to prevent payment.

mmmm, so if I have 100 EW on Editeur Du Gite @ 6/1 1/5th the odds and the top two in the betting become none runners along say, with
Gentleman De Mee I still get 6/1 1/5th the odds?

just a word of warning if you have done nrnb in the shops ,  i backed menorah (yes it was a long time ago) each way in a laddies weeks before the race nrnb ,on the day of the race there were only 5 or 6 runners menorah came 3rd ,when i went to collect the place money the shop till /machine made it a loser , bird behind the counter said its only 6 runners its a loser , they were busy so i said ill come back in the morning ,went back next morning asked the bird to phone head office and they told her to pay out . maybe the tills are more savvy nowadays but just a heads up.

How’s the ground with all the rain and snow going to affect your NRNB bets with sht prices and not able to decide on the day which to back? Clever, very clever.

hobbs trained it stewy so in all probability johnson rode ot ,in the wheatly blue  silks iirc.

Never seen that before. Overall I must have lost backing it but definitely one for the placepot!

regarding number of places paid out on ante post e.w. bets I cannot get an answer from the bookmakers' online robots or staff in the shop. If I lay place bet on exchange for first 3 and horse comes 3rd but no payout from bookmakers I've lost twice.
